i believe epsoms salts are the answer to that one, that's what i was advised by others on here and it worked for me,1 teaspoon to a gallon(5 litres)of water

yep, epsom salts are the ticket. one teaspoon per gallon will go it. water with it once and it should be fine.

Might I make an inquiry? How on earth, with the complete nutes out now for hydro use, how can you get a magnesium deficiency? Normally, when folks ask "what deficiency do I have?" they have burned the poop outta' the plants, but this is obviously NOT an over-fert problem. I am really curious as to how this happened? I can only guess you use RO water, maybe? If you know, we'd really appreciate an explanation so others don't make same mistake. Thanks, and good luck.

Yellowing between veins is a CLASSIC sign of Mg deficiency. 1 tsp of MgSO4 per gallon will work wonders.

how does one come by this condition, sf? the only folks i have ever known to get specific deficiencies in a hydro unit (using one of the name brand nutes) were using water with no minerals (i.e. ro water). is there something else one can do that will cause this?

Just something that happens and is not limited to hydro, could be many factors such as lack of nutrients in soil or the fertz he is using lacks alot of Magnesium.

Its an easy fix, Epsom Salts and your good to go.

yea, it IS an easy--and very inexpensive--fix. thanks for the info direwolf (i too am a friend of jerry). only time i had ever seen a specific nutrient deficiency--90% of the time any discrepancy is nute burn from over-fert--was when someone used "pure" water. seems to me, from several years of watching, that tap water is much better for plants.
this has been an excellent learning experience. i owe you one, m4ck!!!

anyway, thanks for all the info all. you're doing an excellent job m4ck, keep up the excellent work...and don't overdo the nute. it's so easy to love 'em to death.
