Clone Mother

Ok I have some questions about the clone mother. I think I have decided which plant is going to be my clone mother, we will call he r Red. ( for the red zip tie that id’s her). Ok so this actual mother is a first generation clone. Red(from seed) has demonstrated a particularly high resilience to my bumbling. She was the first seed to sprout, she is the best looking and fastest growing plant of the lot and she cloned twice as fast as the others(clear, and green). So I want to keep this first generation clone as the Red Mother. So the care of this mother is a little fuzzy. Mainly I want to keep her as small as possible. I see a lot of clone mothers that look like trees. I want to keep her under 3 feet tall. It’s a must. So how much can she be pruned without killing her? Can I cut the top half off of her if she gets 2 big? If I keep the neuts to a minimum will that hurt her. or keep her in a small pot. I only need 6 to 8 clones at a time as im keeping my grow small. Any advise or recommendations? I will be building a wood propagation box at the end of this cycle that will be 3’ long 2’ wide and 3.5’ tall. One side will be for the mother and clones and the other side will be for vegging. The box will be split into a 2x2 and a 1x2 space. I want it to be hydro, and lit with flors.

simple, when she becomes to big and unmanagable, take one of the clones and create a new mother, flower the old one and you will still have the same plant its a clone (identical to momma), same genetics.

I have done that kind of. I have pulled my clones from the last set of clones; did that for like 5 or 6 crops and it seemed that the last few crops were not a vigorous as the first few. I think there may be some degradation in the quality of the plant. But its hard to tell. I figure keeping a clone mother keeps the genetics intact and gives a good consistent resulting plant. Its not a big problem I was just wondering how much you can cut a Ganja bush back before its hurt. I know that the more its cut than the bushier it gets. Thanks for the reply.

I'm basically doing what your trying to do, I've got 2 mother plants that i've kept in a 4in pot and trained them to encircle the pot. They are no taller than 3 in from the top rim of the pot and it has several (16) tops that can all be used for cloning purposes, my second trained mother plant has 13 tops. They are 5 months old now if my memory serves me correctly and the width they take up is about 6-7 inches. thats about all the advice i can give, i use three 2ft 20w flouros and keep everything really compact. Goodluck and i hope i have been of help.
