Help me design my new grow room

Hi all. I posted this in the HomeGrown420 forum as well so please don't be iritaded if you read both forums as I do. I'm planning on starting indoor hydroponics as soon as my outdoor is done and out of the way. I know how to grow outdoor just fine, but have basically no experience with indoor so I need some of your expert advice. I'm going to convert my entire 20' x 24' garage into the grow room with separate rooms for vegging and flowering with enough room in the vegging room for a mother plant and cloning. Power is not a problem as I have a 200 amp service on the house and only use about 100 of it at most in the summer. Also I have a sub-panel on the garage with 100 amps running to it. The garage is already well insulated with 6" in the ceiling and walls and was planing on putting an additional 1' of hardboard insulation on the interior walls as well as mylar. I'm a licensed caregiver for 3 licensed patients which basically gives me a legal total of 300 sq.ft. of mature females. I only want to grow 1/3 of that or 10' x 10' indoor and do the remainder outdoor. So now for the questions.

As far as seed goes, I'm thinking of either Heavy Duty Fruity from T.H. Seeds or Critical Mass from MR. Nice.

Roughly how long do I want to veg for, for maximum yield per electricity used? From what I understand it's like 2-3 weeks.

How far apart are the plants going to need to be? I mean, I know they'll be closer for vegging and farther for flowering.

As far as the hydroponic system goes, I was thinking of this system http://www.plantlightinghydroponics....oducts_id=1640 . That way when the ones are done vegging you can just take out the basket with plant and drop it in the pot in the flowering room. But I'm open to other suggestions.

I'm open to suggestions for nutes, but it will have to be something I can pick up locally which shouldn't be a problem being that there's a dozen hydro shops within 10 miles of my house.

Lighting. For flowering it's pretty straight forward. I want to cover a 10' x 10' area with HPS. How many and what wattage is the question. Now for vegging I know I want MH, but how many and what wattage depends on the spacing of the pots in relation to how many I end up with in the flowering room. Plus some fluorescents for the mother and clones. All the lights will be fan cooled units such as the Coolsun or other.

As fare as smell goes, it's not a real concern being that I don't have any close neighbors and I am legal "as far as the state is concerned". But I could always do something later if need be.

I'm open to suggestions as far as additional fans and CO2. I know when it comes summer time again I'm going to have to actively cool with something, but at least for the next 6 or 7 months that shouldn't be a problem.

Any other suggestions would be appreciated.

Thanks a bunch.

By the way here's a few pics of my back yard.

Not only do they fly over, they stop and hover. I already had a visit from the local sheriff department. All they wanted to see was my licenses and everything was fine. You have to understand that when you drive on the roads around here, you can see it growing all over in back yards.

Like the one in your avatar? rofl!!!

But seriously... with a outdoor set up like that, how the hell do you not get neighborhood teens jumping your fence at 2am?

But good luck with your new setup up, I'm just now starting construction of a box, so I can't help too much, hah
