So this is what I have now.




I want to get rid of the single bulbs and get one of those long flourescent lighting fixtures. with the 2 long bulbs. Im just curious as to what i should look for. And how much wattage i should be using for the 3 plants i have now, and the bunch of northernlightsxbig bud plants im going to be starting. thanks in advance.

why not go with HPS? you could find a cheap hps for under 100

Your right, im dumb. hps = perfect. How close should i have a 400w hps from my plants?

if you move your cfls about 3" away you would get better resolts as well . lets say your cfl puts out 1750 lumes thats at 1 ft so if you move your cfl to 3" you will get 5250 lumes and a lot less heat then you would with a hps . here is a nice guide i found online hope it helps

.Hanging height: Due to the heat that is emitted from these types of fixtures, you should hang them according to size. Smaller wattage systems (100 and 250) should be hung about 2 to 3 feet from the top of the plants. Medium wattage systems (400 and 600) should be hung around 4 feet from the top of the plants. High wattage systems (1000 and up) should be placed at least 4 to 6 feet from the plant tops.

Yea, I was just about to say, you should move your fluoros closer, but it looks like djdew already got to it. It appears plant in the middle is stretching for that other fluoro, if you had them closer, that probably wouldnt have happend...

see that blue "daylight" CFL?? get 3 more of those at least for 3 plants, and move them waaaaaaaay closer as said above...
