Picture post size?

It says on this site that any uploaded pictures must be under 100k, but I've seen pics here that must be much bigger than that.
I posted a couple of pics but I had to shrink them AND reduce the color depth to 256 so that they were of the correct size.
Is this limit strictly enforced?

I think its 10000 bytes but when you try to upload it will tell you at that point how big it should be

if you are uploading from your comp. maximum file size is 102400 bytes, which converts to 100 KB, (or just under 1 megabyte)

not very big at all.


if you are using the img tag in your posts to bring in a picture from a webpage, it appears as though they are limitless in size, as the picture is still run off the website you linked up to, and is not actually being stored on GC.coms servers.
