a couple of questions to be answered here, many thanks.

ive recently purchased a 150 watt hps, i germinated female white widow seeds in hotpress in bog roll and i planted them 3 days later when the stem was about inch and half out. i have a few questions, i put the germinated seeds into soil in pots and have them under the light, theyr about an inch under the soil ,

how long will it take for them to sprout out of the soil roughly ?

how close should i have these lights to the plant ?

what kind of yield should i be hopeing for ?

i also have a fan which i'll be hooking up soon so the heat off the light shouldnt be too much of a problem i would be thinking . any help at all appreciated.

Germinating shouldnt involve a stem at all, you should germ them til the tap root pops out about 1/2 to 1cm and put them in the soil about an inch deep. If you let them grow a bit of a stem its not the end of the world.

Pop a sandwhich bag over the top of ur pots to keep the moisture in and just leave them til the shout pops up. Dont water them til the shoot pops up and leave your light off aswell. You dont wanna put the light on til you've got some leaves to hit. If your shining your light onto pots that havent sprouted yet all your doing is drying out your soil with the heat and lowering your chance of them sprouting.

put the light on!!! the plant needs the heat to know which way is UP!!!

^^^ yea, and for the light, id say keep it about a foot away, thats if your doing sea of green, if not idk. for sea of green, you want it close enought to get alot of light and some heat, but not so close that its burning the leaves.

Gravity tells the stem which way to go. You dont need a light for heat just put them on a shelf above your monitor or something.
