i just looked all over for the mute button to silence an uppity noob and couldn't find it.

It's called the ignore function. Go to their profile and click on "Add Member To Your Ignore List"

i tried to and couldn't find it. maybe i'm not finding their profile. OK... i see it now. it was hidden inside the green band instead of out in the open where i was looking for it.

Click on the person's user-name on one of their posts... A little menu will drop down. The top link will say "View Public Profile"... The persons profile will come up and in the middle menu you'll see a few links... The first one on the left will be to "Add *User* to Your Buddy List" and then another to "Add *User* to Your Ignore List"

yeah... i already got it. like i said, the feature was hidden in the green band where it looks like a topic heading and not an option.
