could you fix the copy & paste glitch?

this is the ONLY forum where i have problems with copying and pasting text. every time i post something that i've worked on in wordpad, i get annoying double smilies at the end of EVERY line of text. just now i created a thread about naming all of the tastes and odors known in the MJ world then had to go back and edit out the < o : p > < / o : p > (<o></o>) that got added to every single one. i don't know what it is, but this is the only place i have that problem

oh, while i'm thinking of it, could you also stop abbreviating URLs? that's another copy and paste headache. you copy a URL and save only to find out later you can't use it because it's been abbreviated. you better hope you can remember where you found the link the first time if you ever want to find it again then.

i do ALOT of copying and pasting and those two issues are a major pain in the medical use area. LOL

Do not know what to tell you about your first problem. Try using notepad and see if that helps. When I write in wordpad and copy and paste into the quick reply box, nothing is added.

As to your second problem. To copy from a post you could:
  1. Edit your post and copy it from there, where it is not abbreviated.
  2. Quote the post and copy it from there for the same reason.
  3. Right click the link and go to Copy Link Location (Firefox. Copy Shortcut for Internet Explorer). When you paste it, it will be the full URL.

I hope that helps. I do a lot of copying and pasting too.

oh... i did not know about that technique. i'll have to make a note of it and PM myself so i don't forget it. i would just click on the link and copy and paste it from the new page when it opens, but sometimes i just copy and paste from a thread or PM etc., save it to CD, then forget where i got the link to begin with and can't go back and find it anymore.

thanks for the hacker tip though.
