So i ordered a glass piece from the grasscity shop. It came in the mail today. The Normal shipping is 11.50, right? Well on the box the shipping cost said 2.39..my package was also shipped from within the United States. I dont really care, but i would have liked saving $9.

any thoughts about this?.

I think you should of paid the shipping from the united states for $2 and change if thats where it's being shipped from.. That's my thoughts anyway. I'd contact grasscity admin through the email and ask for your $9 shipping to be returned.. See what they say.. If they contact you and u don't agree as to where the extra $9 went too, I'd follow through with the credit card company you purchased with. Sounds like they are drop shipping from the USA but charging the shipping prices from Europe. Credit card companies are usually more then willing to take care of their card holders and side with the customer in issues like this....

Not saying u got ripped for shipping charges here yet, maybe it's totally legal to drop ship and charge up for shipping like that (I really don't know, doesn't sound to kosher IMO cause if it's not going towards shipping, it's going in someones pocket as a profit) But the few times I was getting ripped off the cc went above and beyond what I thought they would. They could careless it was a pipe from grasscity, or an interracial midget porn dvd so don't worry about that. They dont care what ya bought or what ur gonna do with it. They care about the business aspect, and the exchange of money, and who gets what rightfully.

The above page explains the shipping quite thoroughly. Due to glass, the package is insured. Your not going to get insurance with a $2 shipping charge.

Also:

Contact support if you have an issue, not the administration. However, everything within the above link explains shipping and could be considered a disclaimer, if need be.

The company that I work for charges shipping based on the merchandise total which I truly believe to be a ripoff. The Grasscity Shop charges $11.50 no matter what you order which is a good deal if you are really spending some money with them.

Grasscitry didn't box up, package, and ship nothing.. They put a picture on the site, collected the money that would cover an insured package shipped from Europe, and drop shipped from the next town over in the USA for $2.50.

I don't know to many online bong shops who'd stick you with a piece broken in shipment even if they are trying to snatch us up with their cheaper uninsured posted shipping prices LOL.. On another note who else is shopping through our addresses, who else is gc drop shipping with within the USA? If I'm ordering up bubble-bags or something of the like I'd really hate to think it was being shipped to me from an entity within the states

realy not cool from you to advise our custumors to make a charge back, I should ban you for only thinking that, it is plain and simple, ALL orders, no matter what you order are 11.50 USD, order of 99 and more are shipped for free ( except if you choose express shipping) , so the otherway around, if you bought something worth for 70 bucks of heavy glass and we have to pay say 17 usd for shipping, you still pay 11.50 .

Ripping somebody of is saying: it costs 2.30 and than charge 11.50 . If you do not want to pay the 11.50 shipping costs , don't buy it, it's a straight deal. And indeed it is 2.50 shipping costs of that piece, but you have a real person not a robot who treats your glass with care, love and attention, then there is enviroment friendy shipping material, boxes, warehouse, and a lot lot more... if you think that we we make a fortune out of shippnig orders for 11.50 USD, well I suggest you go into retail/internet business , I wish you good luck...... yeah you pissed me off!!! Because you are claiming that we are dishonest and that's a slapp in the face of all the people working here to get out these products to you no matter what, if it breaks, we send it again , if it's lost we send it again, if you are not happy we refund the money..... should I go on, and do you realy care?

This all said, starting 2008 a new shipping calcualtion method will be introduced, meaning you will pay exactly what it cost for shipping and handling. I dare to say, you will miss the days, that shipping was only 11.50 .....

I did not suggest a charge back, I suggested he contact you the nman of reason behind grasscity.. if you couldn't see he was being overcharged, then yeah whats right is right, and card companies are the next step..

Insinuating that SJ conducts bad business is just so uncool. In the end, the shipping information is there for all that buy to see.

When buying CCG, there is this:

Please note that ALL color changing glass pipes and bongs are shipped from inside the USA. All orders are shipped in considerate plain boxes. We ship worldwide.

The buyer had all of the info regarding shipping and made the choice to purchase anyway. Superjoint's a good businessman and only conducts good business.

again, he would be overpriced if we would say it costs 2.40 for shipping, but we didn't we say it costs 11.50 , again, all orders are 11,50 , clearly we do that for a reason , we do it for that same reason over 8 years, your field of business or expertise is not ours, so don't think you have all knowlegde in your pocket, it's comparing apples to oranges and you have no clue how we organize our shipping. What you are saying is that in the last 8 years we have overpriced everybody and everyone in our shop. It's a flat fee, it's a flat fee, it's a flat fee, you pay for what is is being asked. Covered up? Please! Someone who had all of the shipping info in front of them decided to question it. Someone else advised a charge back and it went from there. To be so dramatic to move into the "shady" and "covered up" realm is just silly, really.

Someone with 6 posts, here since August doesn't know enough about Grasscity, the Shop, the City or SJ to be calling someone "shady". With that being said, the City is given to us by Superjoint, who owns the place that you are bad mouthing. There's no reason for you to be here any longer.

Superjoint runs a good business. All of the info regarding shipping charges and where something is shipped from is in the Shop for buyers to see.

It fine dandy you got terms posted that allows you to pocket the extra $9... i just don't think thats cool or very honest. That's all.. Like I said if this is ban worthy then ban away.. Just an opinion that I'm sure you'd have if you realized someone was pocketing your money, or you were paying more for an item then it actually cost to purchase and ship.

It's not only grasscity that does this, many online stores have took on this practice of finagling a few extra dollars into their pockets, and covering with a tos... For 8 years now... Someone sure has hell has been earning on $11.50 shipping charges..
