How does Reputation work?

How do you know how many green bars you should have? What is the system to determine that? like 15+ is 1 bar, and -5 takes off +5?

I have a couple questions too, i have 3 +reps 2 grey reps, and 1 neg rep and now i have a red rep on my name, how is this possible if i have more + rep than neg???
what is more "powerful" neg or positve reps?

The points to equal a green bar or red bar vary as the total points increase or decrease.

For every X number of days, users gain 1 point of reputation-altering power.

For every X number of posts, users gain 1 point of reputation-altering power.

For every X points of reputation, users gain 1 point of reputation-altering power.

A user must have X posts before his reputation hits count on others.

A user must have X points of reputation before his reputation hits count on others.

OK...you have 5 reps. 2 are worth 0 points. Those are the grey/blue ones that you talked about. It doesn't matter if they were negative or positive when it comes to points. The members who gave you the grey/blue reps either haven't been here long enough for their rep to count or they don't have enough posts or enough rep.

You have two positives. One is from a member whose rep is worth 11 points. The other is from a member whose rep is worth 4 points. The negative rep is from a member whose rep is worth 36 points.

The difference in points is due to length of time here, post count and reputation points.

(I normally wouldn't talk about a persons actual rep but you listed what you have.)

I still get none of this! How do I see all that info about who gave me rep and how many points that's u mentioned?

As far as points, check your User CP. It's right there. Points shouldn't matter anyway and really rep shouldn't either unless it's red.
