a dedicated "strains" forum would be nice

i looked all over grasscity trying to find a strains forum and the closest i got was the seedbank forum. it would be nice if this site had some sort of strain forum or strainguide so people can learn about specific strains and ESPECIALLY read smoke reports.

hey... a "smoke reports" forum would be even better. everyone always talks about how long a strain took to grow, the exact measure of chemicals daily and any other boring minutia with tons of pics, but no-one ever talks about how a strain smokes which is the most important thing in my book.


i'd like to see a section dedicated to getting the lowdown on the hundreds of strains out there without having to rely on vague to overhyped product descriptions in catalogues. i know that i'll tell anyone who'll listen how the 8 or so strains i'm growing compare to one another once i get to harvest.

I agree a strains section would definently take this website to a whole new level if done correctly, somewhere to go specifically to read about strains you are thinking about picking up, what there sativa/indica content are, how they smoke, etc. I know there are places like that all over the net, but gathered in one extremely organized forum would attract a shit-ton of new site traffic. How bout it SuperJoint?

A smoke report section for specific strains sounds like a good idea except a lot of times people are told they're getting one strain and they're really getting something completely different, and theres no way to tell if its really what people say it is, unless you know the grower.

the thing is... growers who KNOW what they're growing never really give ANY attention to an actual smoke report. they talk about nutrient levels, sprouting/sex ratios, time to harvest and waste a ton of bandwith on pictures, but anyone looking for a REAL lowdown on the strain will know absolutely nothing about it. sorryy... but i just can't smoke a picture!

NOTHING should matter but smoke reports.

rest assured, once i bud out my C99 splash, pure power plant, mixed sativa, haze X skunk, bubblegum, california orange & troublemaker strains... i'll be giving SMOKE REPORTS and ignoring all of the useless info everyone else obsesses over. besides, a few of those strains are off the radar like pure power plant and mixed sativa.

gee... after reading 10,000 grow reports... i THINK i have a vague idea how to freakin' grow weed!!!! LOL why do i need to see the same useless info over and over but NEVER the really interesting things? i TRIED to start a picture free shootout thread at another site, and nearly everyone ignored it. don't get me wrong... weed pics are nice, but they don't really convey anything useful.

then there's the people who "DO" post smoke reports that are no help at all like
"oh shee! this was the best weed i ever smoked man... i'm still like wow!"
that's nice... but where the heck is the grower even coming from? i despise couchlock and hate nearly ALL of the indica and hybrid shee i've smoked after the pinecone THAI buds that spoiled me from the 1st day i smoked disappeared 20+ years ago. i've really developed a CONTEMPT for all of the overpriced couchlock skunks & red hairs etc. i've smoked since then. i refused to order seeds when dutch banks first hit the scene as NONE of them had any pure sativas at first. i already knew i despised indicas by then.

for pete's sake... talk about energy levels... trippiness... and confusion levels for a change people. to me... all indicas are the same and equally hated. i'm NOT growing troublemaker because i want to... it was a freebie, so i'm going to breed it with C99 and see how much trippier i can make it. i'm thinking of doing my own 87.5% sativa version of skunk #1 as the time i smoked the "allegedly" 75% sativa original, ii couldn't tell any difference from any of the other vile indica polluted sludge i've had to endure for way too long.

i always begged and pleaded with people to talk about smoke QUALITY to no avail for a long time in a now defunct forum. gee... and everyone there wondered why i was STILL window shopping after a year or two.

that's why i recommend a SMOKE REPORT forum in particular. i'd suggest that it be catalogued by STRAIN so there AREN'T 30 more seperate "NYC diesel" threads, just one! LOL

it just seems that most people who share info are only interested in dry statistics and not real world experiences (or even hallucinogen induced fantasy worlds). potentcy SUCKS ROTTEN EGGS if it induces couchlock and.or confusion as far as i'm concerned.

in the past 20+ years... i STILL haven't seen ANYTHING close to the high energy, euphoric extremely trippy sensations that i got from thai. hopefully C99 splash or mixed sativa (thought there'd be sativa mexicana seeds in it) or even pure power plant will give me some of the rush but with better potentcy than abused mexican commercial.

maybe this forum could even add indica-sativa preference ratings for members so we know where people are coming from. i pick the very most sativa spot. i don't care what anyone on the other side of 50:50 has to say! LOL

if nothing else... please... somebody start a sativa lover's thread and i'll share my experiences with pinecone thai, kali mist, durban poison and mexican commercial. that's all i know so far.

damn bro! +rep, i feel ya on the sativas/indicas... i HATE indicas...all they do is give me swolen up fat red eye lids with red eyes, a stuffy nose...and make me completely lazy as f*ck for the whole day.... sativa is the way to go.

I also think there should be a forum for smoke reports and all that....categorized by strain or whatever too.

How about a Genetics/Breeding forum? We could discuss all the strains and their lineage (i couldn't be the only one fascinated with MJ's family tree) and also talk about our homemade crosses etc.

You make alot of sence, but you also make yourself look pretty ignorant bashing every indica dominant strain of weed, and calling it garbage. we all get the point you preffer sativa over indica, and thats fine, but damn... why bash indica until its bloody... ive had indica weed thats shitting on some sativa, and yes... it was a pure sativa plant.

I appreciate both kinds of ganja, and i used to say i loved all indica dominant strains over sativa, but ive had good sativa as well. and i must say a switch from indica to sativa, or especially sativa to indica is amazing.

some may like an uppety clear high, some wanna get laid out.

And Skunk is made up of Columbian Gold x [Afghani x Acapulco Gold]. The majority of its genetics are from famously potent sativas. It isn't Haze, but no way no how is real Skunk couch lock. The original breeder Sam the Skunkman doesn't like couch lock buzzes either and bred Skunk to be more of an up high. The Skunk i've smoked makes your heart pound and your head soar.

come to think of it, last time i smoked some real skunk... it was a very nice up high. kind of lighter than id like, but the headieness of it was pretty damn good. its been a while since i actually had any skunk, maybe upwards of a year and a half.
