If you're on a console, I'd get a better free roam game like Red Dead Redemption.
If you're on a PC, you can have tons of fun with Oblivion using mods and such. If possible get the edition that comes with the official plugins + Shivering Isles. I've beaten Oblivion at least 100 times and Morrowind 100 times before that. They're definitely RPG's, but you are given great amounts of freedom in the order you tackle quests and such.

But it's good fun. I've got like 90+ mods.
I don't find making combat characters that fun anymore. Now I just make really strange characters.
My current character class is Gypsy, main stats Agility and Personality.
Main skills
Acrobatics
Armorer
Hand to hand
Illusion
Light Armor
Mercantile
Sneak
I'm lvl 7 and weak as shit. With the difficulty a little above medium.
I enjoy the game more when your a weakling.

I embrace my desire to
feel the rhythm, to feel connected
enough to step aside and weep like a widow
to feel inspired, to fathom the power,
to witness the beauty, to bathe in the fountain,
to swing on the spiral
of our divinity and still be a human.

haha this game is the shiiiiit. The only issue is adjusting the its style if you havent played elder scrolls o a similar style game... the leveling is mega confusing at first..as you can gain like 50 levels in various attibutes and not actually gain a level...making the game easy as the enemies get stronger as your total level increases... it has soo much customization in the plot and how it all goes.... its so intense.... and you can do whatever the fuck you want after you get strong enough..... just avoid vampires...at all costs DO NOT get bitten, the quest to return to normal is such a bitch and you can not go out in day light lol
That's no joke. That chore was almost as much a bore as real chores.

dude yea its like...go find this witch she can help... then she is like oh yea lol i need 5 grand soul stoned bitch, and uh they seem to be hard to locate without stealing... then you need all these various herbs and shit that come from ALL OVER THE PLACE but, not a single one comes from all over, one is in one place only, another is in a tiny little grassy knoll.... fucking SO annoying....then you gotta kill that fucking lightning vampire guy..... takes a good 5 hour total to get all of it, if you were JUST trying to finish that quest.....

Yeah but you get to help Count Hassildor of Skingrad, and he seems like a pretty cool guy.
Isn't that reward enough?

wouldnt it be cool to be bit by vampire because i can go suck people's blood though?
or is there some type of meter and if you don't keep feeding yourself enough blood u die
It's kinda lame actually. All you do is suck someone's blood when they're asleep, and I think you have to do it once a day. If you don't do it, then all of your vampire abilities get stronger, as do you. The one downside to this is that the sun continues to do more damage to you. If you continue to go without blood then you get the best vampire abilities, but the sun kills you in one hit.

Actually being a vampire has a lot of perks. It increases a lot of your abilities, and if your vampirism get serious (there's different levels of vampirism) you get pretty big boosts. BUT, you can't go outside during the day, which is a pain when you want to wait or have to do long quests and don't go out early enough in the night.
Just not worth it once you start getting to higher levels.

The perks are nice.... but usually when your at a point where being a vampire is no good, your way beyond what those perks can do haha, I got bit after beating the theives guild, and dark brotherhood so i had every perk it had to offer already pretty much.... i was always confused as to why the people you bite...never become vampires..... you should be able to infect the entire game lol

In one file I went to sleep in the bed on the floor of the arena blood works. And got bitten in my sleep.
I swear to God it had to be that half breed scum the Gray Prince.

The vampire part isn't so bad, though I guess I had a bunch of filled grand soul gems so it wasn't a big deal for me.
Though oddly, you get stronger as a vampire by not feeding in this game (it only prevents the sun damage). The only thing I hate in this game is fighting trolls...those things can take a beating and outrun anything.
Hmm...maybe I'll play it again today. I was just starting a new character.
the other downside to not feeding is your stats are altered to you can take barely any physical damage without getting crushed, but, you do become almost impervious to magic of any kind
