whenever i start up my xbox 360, it freezes at the xbox logo at the very very beginning. after searching before and giving up, i got the urge to search google for an answer again. after basically noooooo official answer i found 1 person who had the same problem, and some random post suggested to remove the HDD (hardrive on the side). i dont know why i didnt think of earlier but.. i removed it and surely enough it went to dashboard

thats fine, i can atleast play some offline, and my problem isnt the whole xbox , thankfully. BUT i want to buy mw2 and play online and i obviously cant do that if i dont havea hardrive.

please tell me whats wrong with my hardrive? do i have to buy a new one? if so, i dont know how im going to transfer my account because its not registered to a email.

Contact microsoft you might be able to get them to fix it and/or score a free replacement xbox

The only thing I could suggest is to just make sure all your cables and HDD are connected properly.

the cables are all plugged in and the xbox itself works without the HDD. with it, doesnt load anything.

when I phoned xbox, he didnt help with anything. told me what i told him, after 'running a test', then told me my warranty is expired.

ughhhh, dont know if i wanna buy a new HDD. how much would it be at a store? ebay better? maybe i should mod it, or buy a ps3. ughh i dont wanna spend monnnney now, prob for christmas

Depends on how big of one you want, a 20GB will probably go for around $40 and bigger ones will cost more.

ya thanks.

its just such a stupid problem.. it doesnt even freeze at the emblem

its stuck on the screen, but the light is still moving around the ball.
