Post your game ideas!

I have decided to create a game, and try and give it away to a big game company.

The way I see it, if I were a big game company, and someone offered me the idea of an amazing game that would obviously sell a lot of copies, I wouldnt turn it down. And even if it goes nowhere, which it almost surely will, I would still like to have tried to have my dream game become a reality.

This is where you come in.

If you have an idea of something that you have wanted to see in a game, post it.

The basic game right now would play like CoD 4 with a crowbar on district, in an oblivion style story, with faster and more aggressive Dead Rising syle zombies (Picture the zombies in Dawn of the Dead, only not as relentless and in fewer numbers)

It goes a lot more in depth than that (I have typed almost 2 pages of intricacies), but I figured, because this game would be sucessful, assuming a game company chooses to make it) it should be comprised of ideas from more gamers than just myself.

Post the intricacies so we know more about where you're coming from.

Re: Post your game ideas!

for example i would want it to have a leveling system like oblivion and fallout combined, so leveling up certain skills would give you XP along with giving you the abilities associated with that skill. Leveling up individual skills would allow you to put more skill points on the governing attribute for that skill. (If you havent played oblivion, this might be harder to understand).

So strength is one of your main attributes, and it governs skills like melee (which would be divided into blunt+blade(which in turn would be divided into light and heavy, heavy blunt would be a sledge hammer while light blunt would be a nightstick). So leveling up melee, by getting kills with melee weapons, would allow you to add more skill points to strength when you level up. A character with higher strength would be able to carry more weight (like assault rifles, food, first aid supplies), but would move more slowly and be louder. If instead you wanted to play a stealthy character, wou would be able to use silencers, move quickly and quietly, but not be able to carry as much, but you would have to level up skills like agility and sneak. You level up when you reach a certain amount of XP, and gain XP from getting kills, completing quests, leveling up skills, and completing weapon challenges (think CoD 4).

that is basically a rough outline of how the leveling system would work, if you dont understand what i mean, play oblivion or read about the leveling system.

so what i am looking for is weapon ideas, gametypes for online, or just little thigs that you liked about games you have played.

i dont know how game companies get ideas, but i think it generally comes from them getting ideas about a story or something, and then they fill in how the game plays, what the controls are, etc. the way i see it, giving them a lot of information about how the game should play (such as this leveling system) saves them time trying to come up with intricacies, so they could put more time into developing what the landscpe would look like, the story, etc.
