I was reading another theory a minute ago and credit to the writer. But the theory suggests that in the end of MM when Majora gives Link the Fierce Deity mask in the final fight was because Majora thought that Link wouldn't be able to control the powers of the mask. I had a different thought though. Since the Happy Mask Salesman gave the Fierce Deity (FD from now on) to a great warrior to use for good turned the warrior evil and during the fight with Majora (not the mask the actual Majora) Majora won, My theory is that majora gave link the mask to prove he was still the best fighter to ever live even against the FD.

The Gerudo aren't exactly paragons of righteousness to begin with....

"Who started the Hyrule war? Everyone knows that the Sages were guardians of the Triforce and likely any divine objects, places, or relics of the goddesses. And it is also clearly pointed out in the game that each race has a representing sage chosen by divine right (fate determined before birth, proposed by Louis XIV of France). From this we can learn without hesitation that all races practiced the beliefs of the goddesses, for at least as long as there were sages. So right from there we can tell that these sages used their divinity and devotion to protect as a weapon of influence, ensuring religious and overall peace for represented races. But if everyone is at peace, how is it that war erupts about a decade before oot? We’ve all heard mention of this war from the Deku Tree, but if the sages have ensured peace in religion, how did it start? Throughout history, war has been started for the most part due to two causes: Religion and Conquest. We can narrow the cause down to either of those two. Probably the most important thing to remember here is that the sages of Hyrule had not been awakened in this war. We know this because in ocarina of time, they all discover themselves during Link’s quest and aid him in his struggle. Without the sages present to preserve order and devotion to the goddesses, heretics may have risen up, but this is not likely since most of the land was already heavily religious by now. With religious differences ruled out, the cause of war is left to conquest. We have already heard how the whole country was thrown into conflict, but who is it that wanted all of Hyrule? We can figure this out by process of elimination. The Zoras are water-dwelling people, therefore would not be likely to set conquest when most of Hyrule is dry land. The gorons live on rocks from caves deep in the mountains of Hyrule, and because of such a diet, the open grasslands of most of Hyrule would not be a particularly desirable home for them. The Hylians, while being the dominant population of Hyrule, they also inhabit most of it, so they don’t have enough to conquer in order to start the war that was recalled in oot. The Sheikah, while they were mysteriously decimated by the start of oot, are servants of the Hylian crown, so likely were fighting alongside the Hylians throughout the war’s duration. This leaves only the Gerudo to blame. Living in the harsh deserts of west Hyrule, the Gerudo likely did not lead very pleasant lives. And the fact of mention that many Gerudo would venture into Hylian towns searching husbands suggests prostitution and hence poverty. Dragmire Ganondorf was the chief of the Gerudo but was known to Hylians and the “King of Thieves”, this suggests that Gerudo might have had reputations of not having very strong moral character. And considering that when one visits the thieves’ hideout, they can see that every Gerudo is some sort of armed Guard. So now we are left with the question that may not be able to be answered, did Ganondorf lead the Gerudan front in that war? The only real way to find out is to prove that he was king in the days of the war." A Ganon game would be epic if this theory was right.

des esseintes that was a very interesting theory in you're first post. I have always speculated who that man is but now that you mention the kid with the stick from kokiriko village it makes a lot of sense. Personally i thought nothing of it besides the fact he may just be the guard in the future. Anyways, i feel as if the most interesting aspect of the zelda universe is the time line. anyone have any interesting timeline theories? or do you just think that there is no timeline?
