CHEA NBA thread, my kinda thread. Been a Laker fan for years, so im def excited about my team. The blazers ended our streak but i think it was a good loss. Gotta take a couple to get to the top(dont wana imitate the patriots). Just waiting for that boy Bynum to return, and Ariza aswell. The west is too serious. The east has nice some good teams too though, Det/Bos are up there

gasol was a mean pickup for us. Look at the stats we have had with em. I just hope our injured players comeback to full health.

I also like the Warriors, Baron davis is the shit. Hes one of my non laker favorites

boston and detroit have pretty much clinched the east. you have to realize that a lot of the losses for boston/detroit come from the western teams.

West is where all the hard hitters are right now. A single loss can drop a team several rankings. I love how all the media is predicting who will win and who's the best right now. Watching how these western teams are winning by margins and pure luck in the fourth quarter from unexpected fouls and turnovers shows me that the "Best in the West" is still up in the air.

If i had to pick two strong and consistent teams in the west.. it would be the Lakers and Spurs, most experience and both look very strong. NO is doing well but i dont' think they have the playoff experience needed to go all the way. Utah and Dallas are great but they struggle too much with top tier teams. Phoenix, to me at least, is just out of chemistry. Shaq has not made that dominant impact and i where marion helped them, they haven't filled that "role". Rockets are done for now that yao ming is injured. Last thing i would say is that be careful of the lakers when bynum returns, then will be the time to see what potential the lakers really have.

Actually, Detroit is 15-7 against the west.

They are doomed without Yao. Hopefully T-mac holds up long enough to get them out of the first round though...Id like to see the rockets make some noise this year.

I find it ironic that the upper level eastern teams actually have good records against the west. especially with how solid the west is.

my cavaliers have been playing great since the trade. i think they are 5-1, and also congrats to LeBron who became the youngest player ever to break 10,000 pts.

Switching the topic a bit.......

Didn't the NBA create a new policy that the officials were to 'crack down' on (in other words) bitching and moaning??

I recall that there were more technicals given out soon after it started. However, the rule/policy/whatever has clearly been over-looked. It seems like EVERY single player bitches after a foul call....regardless. I understand that I, the viewer have the benefit of instant-replay....and the player does not. But I am not a professional basketball player either.

It gets pretty lame after a while to see these ultra-overpaid athletes act totally flabergasted that the ref could even think about calling a foul. Its almost like they players have to break balls after a call or they will be alienated from the other players.

On the other hand, it does look kinda dumb when a player raises his hand after a foul. Usually its damn obvious who made the foul. Unless a scrub is trying to take the foul for a star player.

I gues it just irks me because these dudes make so much cash and they still have the nuts to complain about something. Every one of those players has played basketball long enough to know that fouls are a part of the game. In my opinion, there is no need to be an obnoxious fucking jerk every time they make a mistake. If anything, the player should motherfuck himself for screwing up.

i think the problem in the nba is that they don't have a better system of judging plays and making calls. you'll see refs quite often make another call to make up for the previous one in the nba. after all, it's the perception of the ref that ultimately decides who did what. i can see where some players can get frustrated but the majority of the time the players themselves seem like they either don't know the rules or didn't realize how the foul was committed. The players need to read the definition of "contact" in the nba rulebook, if there is even such a definition.

i bet the suns are regretting that trade for Shaq, if they continue on this skid they are going to miss the playoffs all together.

Lol. The Celtics are 18-3 against the West. Try again.
