Beachbody Insanity

Not sure if anybody here has seen the commercials for this shit or not, but I just started it this morning and it's fucking insane.

I do P90x during the rugby off season and wanted to change it up a bit, and this is a huge change up. It really is, like it claims, "insanity."

I'm in shape and I was pouring sweat and gasping for air by the time I was done with the hour long workout. I was impressed I could keep up...but just barely. It goes hard from the moment you put it in until the end.

If anybody is looking to get in shape quick this is the program for it. It's all fast paced body weight exercises, so you don't need weights or anything, although it'd be a good idea to supplement in some weight training if you still have any energy left over.

Not sure I can post the workout easily. It's like P90x in that it's a set of workout DVDs that cost quite a bit of money

It's like an hour long, extreme version of HIIT.

This is the website for it, and it lists the 10 different workouts at the bottom of the page. Might give you a quick idea of what it consists of

Re: Beachbody Insanity

I'd probably fall over and have a heart attack...lol...I seriously need to stop smoking cigarettes. I'm pretty strong, but I get winded so easily anymore.

I used to do the Buns of Steel workout, and that was pretty killer, too...I've seen the P90x on infomercials, and that looks pretty intense, so if this new one is more hardcore than that, that's pretty awesome you can keep up

I've never been a fan of the "one workout for everybody" concept that people like this make millions off of. P90x is basically just good cardio, sure you'll lose weight if you follow a nice diet and you may gain a minimal amount of muscle.....but I would still recommend a gym and common lifting knowledge over P90x any day.

As I said in the OP, I'm a rugby player who uses P90x during the off-season to keep my cardiovascular health up. I still go to the gym 4 times a week to lift, and just use P90x and this new Insanity to challenge myself and to keep producing gains.

These people make millions off of these programs because they actually work. You can be in the best physical condition and you will still have a hard time with these workouts. That's the point of them: to keep the challenge high enough so that gains will continue.

I actually saw an increase in muscle mass last off-season from just using P90x alone, so, at least for me, these 2 programs work amazingly.

As long as you're not relying solely on the program, to each his own.
