Way too skinny.. need simple tips to help fill out

Hey there, I'm 19, 6"0 and weigh 125 lbs (57kg) and yes I realise that is incredibly light for my height.

I hate being so skinny, I usually wear a sweater or long sleeve shirt because I hate my scrawny arms and wrists.

I know the basic concept to gain weight is to increase your caloric intake by 500 or so a week, and lately I have been trying to eat more but I still havent gained any weight.

I was wondering if anyone had some simple tips or advice on keeping up a good routine or even specific meals I should eat. I don't really want to be toned and bulky, just filled out and look healthier!

Protein & creatine help. Eat cottage cheese before going to bed. Eat every 2 hours, or 6 meals a day with healthy snacks in between(make sure you're doing some kind of exercise though lol). Eat healthy food, not junk food. Chicken, steak, fish, etc. Eat your vegetables! Helped me, I weighed 122lbs and I'm 19 at 5'11. I gained weight. But I also go to the gym every other day.

You are going to want to change your diet, most likely you have some parasites due to processed food (which I am just assuming you eat since most people nowadays do)

Switch to fruits, vegetables and nuts and you will fill out. It helped me go from 125 to 150

more filled if u have a healthy intake whitch means....

OP I recommend eating before bed. Then your food has no place to go but store in fat, at least in theory. Eat lots of chocolate, that is what caused me to balloon in high school.

i'd suggest eating more, eating better (dont tell me you cant eat better..), and do alotta excercizing. pick up a hobby that involves working out, like rock climbing. climbing is the shit.

you will find you FEEL alot better through eating well and excercising.

go to Bodybuilding.com - The Future Of Bodybuilding! Huge Bodybuilding Site. and watch their exercise videos.

learn how to squat, deadlift, bench, and do bent over rows.

once you learn those and do them routinely, you can start to learn other exercises.

I would recommend taking a mass gainer such as this.

And lifting a lot of weights 5-6 days a week. Don't overdo it on the amount of weight you do in lifts at first. Perfect your form, don't swing the weights when you lift to get them up and such, try to really isolate your muscles for each individual exercise.

add about 5 double cheeseburgers to your diet per day until you reach your desired weight

You're the classic case of being an ectomorph (AKA - hard gainer). I am too.

There are 3 main body types: ectomorph, mesomorph, and endomorph. Note, it's possible to have attributes from more than one body type.

ECTOMORPH
  • Definitive "Hard Gainer"
  • Delicate Built Body
  • Flat Chest
  • Fragile
  • Lean
  • Lightly Muscled
  • Small Shouldered
  • Takes Longer to Gain Muscle
  • Thin

MESOMORPH
  • Athletic
  • Hard Body
  • Hourglass Shaped (Female)
  • Rectangular Shaped (Male)
  • Mature Muscle Mass
  • Muscular Body
  • Excellent Posture
  • Gains Muscle Easily
  • Gains Fat More Easily Than Ectomorphs
  • Thick Skin

ENDOMORPH
  • Soft Body
  • Underdeveloped Muscles
  • Round Physique
  • Weight Loss is Difficult
  • Gains Muscle Easily Like the Mesomorph.

So here's the bad news. If you want to put on weight and fill out you're going to have to work hard at it. There is no real easy way for people like us to get big. And you're going to have to experiment with different workouts and diets to discover what works best for you. But basically you should expect to eat 6 meals a day, and hit the gym at least 3 times a week lifting heavy weights with low reps. Also try to minimize your cardio.

A good place to start would be to do some googling on workouts and diets tailored for ectomorphs. Off the top of my head I can think of P90x and Anthony Ellis, both are products you have to pay for, but I'm sure you can find a torrent for them. Hope this helps.

I can't offer any help suggestions to supplements or anything like that.

I can tell you when I left for freshman year college (i was 19), I weighed 125 and was almost 6 foot. After one year of drinking a shitload of beer and eating tv dinners and other garbage i gained 30 pounds. Unfortunately most of it is my gut.

You want to put on fat though, then work it into muscle to keep size. Good luck.
