im reasonably sure i did some reading up on this and yeah weed doesnt increase ur metabolic rate or anything. but eating is so good when ur high. i think i usually go for unhealthy munchies because they are easy and i get very lazy when baked, so i try put in the effort n make something on the cleaner side, do this a few times and u see its not really that hard and bamn, you get into the habit of healthy munchies

this worked for me anyway

Re: Avoiding eating with the munchies?

Lollipops are great....they take a while to finish (keep your mouth busy), come in all types of crazy flavors, and are not too unhealthy.

If I have terrible munchies, one tootsie roll pop can get me through it without totally killing my high.

It's SO hard to not eat with the munchies, but you have to sort of taper off. I switched to strictly fruit, then drinks, and now... I say i only eat like 1/4 times im high.

the best part is, you stay higher

Not too unhealthy?

It's straight sugar.

I agree it is so hard! I tried eating before I smoked a few times and I was still hungry after I smoked! Damn devil weed! xD Jk jk. But yeah, when I start up again I'm gonna keep water, juice and fruit around instead of like.. chips and twinkies, lol!

Btw, grapes are so awesome when you're high!

Re: Avoiding eating with the munchies?

-drink tons of water

-cast aside the notion of "three square meals a day". grazing on healthy food all day is the ideal way

-feel free to snack, but do so only with raw nuts, fruits, and vegetables. If this sounds like a turn off, keep at it, because most people have had their palettes spoiled by grease and sugar. Once you recalibrate your taste-buds, a handful of almonds and a plum will make ice cream seem like dog food

-when you do catch yourself in the act of eating something you shouldn't stop and think about it afterwards. How much pleasure am I really getting from this? Does it last beyond five minutes, or is it more like a heroin addict getting a fix?

You're on the right track with this. Again, I have to promote "The Thrive Diet" by Benjamin Brazier, as it outlines the truth of the hunger mechanism.

Basically, hunger is tied to nutrients, and NOT caloric intake or fullness of stomach as we've been mislead to believe. Once you've captured all of the essential daily nutrients - preferably from one-step (raw) sources - the hunger mechanism will fall into the background, and stop responding to things like massive amounts of wheat, meat, and dairy.

Re: Avoiding eating with the munchies?

It's simple really. To lose weight, you have to be burning more calories than you are taking in.
