Im recently turned 18 and I just opened up with my parents about my smoking. My parents are both DAILY drinkers and they had the nerve to tell me that the lifestyle Im living is wrong...My dad wants me to go to counseling for my "Drug" use cause apparently im going down the wrong path. But get this like 6 months ago my dad drank a whole bottle of wine and took his ambien and tried to kill himself (and doesnt remember a thing about it)...Now I just wanted to know does anyone else have ignorant hypocritical parents when it comes to smoking or am i the only one???

Festival of mass animal sacrifice begins in Nepal

BARIYAPUR, Nepal – The ceremony began with prayers in a temple by tens of thousands of Hindus before dawn Tuesday. Then it shifted to a nearby corral, where in the cold morning mist, scores of butchers wielding curved swords began slaughtering buffalo calves by hacking off their heads.

Over two days, 200,000 buffaloes, goats, chickens and pigeons will be killed as part of a blood-soaked festival held every five years to honor Gadhimai, a Hindu goddess of power.

While cows are sacred and protected by law in Nepal, animal sacrifice has a long history in this overwhelmingly Hindu country and parts of neighboring India. The Bariyapur festival has become so big, in part, because such ceremonies have been banned in many areas in the neighboring Indian state of Bihar.

And while it is criticized by animal-rights protesters, the festival is defended as a centuries-old tradition.

Many Nepalis believe that sacrifices in Gadhimai's honor will bring them prosperity. They also believe that by eating the meat, which is taken back to their villages and consumed during feasts, they will be protected from evil.

Taranath Gautam, the top government official in the area, estimated that more than 200,000 people had come for the ceremony in Bariyapur, some 100 kilometers (60 miles) from Katmandu. Some brought their own animals to sacrifice.

"I am here with my mother who had promised the goddess she would sacrifice a goat. It was her wish and promise and I am glad we were able to fulfill it," said Pramod Das, a farmer from the nearby village of Sarlahi. "I believe now my mother's wishes will come true."

Animal rights groups don't have much power in Nepal, but they have staged repeated protests in recent weeks. Local news reports say some activists set up stands in towns on the way to the Bariyapur temple, offering Hindu pilgrims coconuts and other fruits to sacrifice instead of animals.

There was no sign of them Tuesday.

"We were unable to stop the animal sacrifices this year but we will continue our campaign to stop killings during this festival," said Pramada Shah of the group Animals Nepal.

The ceremony, which goes back for generations, has enormous resonance in a country where per capital income is about $25 a month, illiteracy is widespread and vast social divides have left millions working as tenant farmers for feudal landlords.

Even many educated Nepalis see value in the tradition.

Om Prasad, a banker from the nearby city of Birgunj, brought offerings of fruit and flowers to the festival, but said he believed people should be able to sacrifice animals if they want.

"It is their tradition and it is fine if they continue to follow it. No one should try to tell them they can't follow what their ancestors did," he said.

Experts say it will take many more years before there are changes in these deeply rooted traditions.

"They continue these animal sacrifice rituals because they believe it is a tradition that can't be broken," said Ram Bahadur Chetri, an anthropology professor at Katmandu's Tribhuwan University. "The people who follow these traditions believe that if they discontinue, then the gods will get angry and there could be catastrophe in the country."

Buffaloes, goats, chicken and ducks are sacrificed at most Hindu homes in Nepal during the Dasain festivals, which fell in September this year.

Chances of finding acid at a concert

So im going to a Stone Temple Pilots concert later, and i'm wondering the chances of finding acid there. Also where to look, or who to sterotype and ask,lol

Maybe a good way to ask people so i dont sketch the average joe square out too. I was thinking, "Have you seen lucy around?" but that seems a bit obscure to hit a stranger that is most likely baked with.

Has any one used T-5 lights? I have a Sun Blaze4 Lamp 3000� K (red) and 6500� K (blue) 2 of each bulb total 216 watts. How far sould these bulbs be placed from the plant. :confused:

Yesterday I get a teary call from my best friend telling me that her dad finally put Minnie down. It was way past her time, she's been around a good 19 years. For that I understand and appreciate the fact that she doesnt hurt anymore and hopefully she's with Mickey, who passed a few years before her.

Let me just say that cat is a year older than me. That's crazy. Ever since me and B have been friends I always saw that cat. Everyday, everynight. That cat grew on me, and it wasn't even mine. That's the strangest part about it, and I don't even know why.

Last night as a goodbye to our friend we drank red wine and smoked multiple blunts. That cat loved being there in the living room with us when we would smoke bowls or light up blunts, she would always sit on the couch and just watch us.

Take it easy girl. :wave:

My mom wanted me to come home Wednesday for Thanksgiving but I told her I had to work, when in reality it was just my nine month with my girlfriend and I wanted to spend the day with her. I just didn't tell her because when I told her it was like our six month she scoffed at me and told me how ridiculous it was to do things for the months. It's not like we do anything amazing for it, just go out to eat at a restaurant or something.

But my mom ending up calling my job and they told her I didn't work Wednesday so she flipped shit on me and I told her I was spending it with my gf, and she just kept saying nobody does that shit and just yelling at me calling me a liar and all this other shit.

So I'm just curious, at 20, anyone else do little things each month with your s/o to celebrate another month together, or are my gf and I alone on that.

I have 18 gals 13 days in 12/12. 3 of them are turning a light green/yellow. Not just a few leaves here and there. Everything green is lightening up.

Would it need a little veg nutrients? Or what. Never had plants do this on me. I burnt a diesel throwing a little veg nutrients, maybe it was too much...

Helps/advice is appreciated. I have been looking into it for two days now.

Hey, I just got this new pickup a few days ago, and while I don't mind smoking from pipes or bongs, my absolute preferred method is joint or spliff. However this weed just dosen't burn! I light it, get one decent hit and it goes straight out meaning I have to light it again and again. I've had to resort to using my pipe but I miss being able to just sit back and chill with my J :(

I'm not the only one with this problem though, my friend who got an eighth of the same stuff is having the same problem. Are we rolling it wrong?

+20min - I can notice the tingleing in my limbs beginning, a smile has been permanently plastered on my face as of just recently. I dosed then proceded to walk my two dogs, smoke a stoge, and now I am on here writing this. Nothing to much other then the tingleing, and slight increase in happiness.

Has anyone ever heard of it? My guy whos ALWAYS got fire legit strain buds was telling me what hes got on deck. All of the other strains (Sour D, Pure kush, Lemon Haze, Grandaddy purp) I've heard of and smoked except for this shit and it sounds really really flame. But it better for $200 a half zone.
