Re: Blu-ray Ruined the Movie

^ Blu-Ray is 50GB per disc, and HD-DVD is 30GB.

Re: Blu-ray Ruined the Movie

My Blu-ray (with 1080p LCD TV) of Transformers 1 really showed the flaws in Megan Foxs face. After seeing it Blu-ray I didn't think she was nearly as attractive. Much more "ordinary," much less "super-ordinary." Then again, beggars can't be choosers

Re: Blu-ray Ruined the Movie

Yea, like everybody else was saying, it's most likely the 120Hz feature that made the movie look fake. My neighbor has one and when I first saw it, I thought it was pretty cool. Every movie looked cheesy at first since I felt like I was there shooting the film myself, but I guess after awhile your eyes just get used to it, so it seems normal. I remember this one time we got blasted and watched "The Shining", and we both got freaked out in the part where the old rotten lady from the bathtub started walking towards the camera. That shit looked so real! lol

LCDs have INCREDIBLY slow response times compared to CRT, and Plasma TVs, which will cause image ghosting...for example..say ur watching football, and a pass is being thrown..u might see a very faded image of the ball as its being thrown...kind of like a shadow image trailing the actual ball..simply called a ghost image. Yes LCD pixel response times have been coming down..but you wont find anything as fast as a tube TV in an LCD...yes plasma's are not as fast as CRT tubes..but they are still much faster than LCDs.

Also in LCD's black levels suffer severely, and as of 2008 Sony and Samsung are introducing new backlight technology to increase black level performance..but at the cost of viewability...sitting at an angle from these new panels, you notice a degredation of color accuracy, and black levels...but I wont deny that strait on they are beautiful.
Whatever happened to DLP? 16 MICROsecond response, 10,000:1 static contrast ratio. View angles suck but y would that matter for a 67" that only costs 1,700$.
Fuck it, ill w8 till OLED comes out and it has 480Hz to fuck with us even more.

Re: Blu-ray Ruined the Movie

I know what you mean. I bought across the universe on bluray and it didn't transfer well at all. I guess it just depends on the movie because 300 and the dark knight looked great at 1080p.

Re: Blu-ray Ruined the Movie

I really don't like watching that. It's kinda gross. I think it was Funny Games I was watching and the quality was so good it was unnatural.

Anyway, back to my hd TV with non-hd satellite.
