Hang in there

what is your humidity level?

using rumples bucket i had clones root in 4 days. i slighty modify his method i use

R/o water ph 6.5 + earth juice root stock. (i think its 2 oz per gal) and use root stock root gel for the cuttings.

my water stayed around 90F because it was summer and my pump was also large (520gph)

my humidity stayed high around 60-70%

i did not cut the leaves but they werent that big

i do not use a humidity dome

i misted them with r/o water 3 - 5 times a day.

i kept them in and did not look at them till day 3.

i did not slice or anything like that.

EDIT: I forgot to add i keep my clones under my 90 watt HTG triband UFO Led light 24 hours a day. the leds work amazing for clones.

Hey cray,

Do you leave your clones in the cloner for the 14 day veg or put them in the bubble bucket?

i take them out as soon as they show a descent amount of roots (a nice bunch or several inches). while you could veg them in there, i wouldnt, you will never be able to get them out of the collars and net pots. plus you would have to flower in there too because the roots will get all tangled up in the pvc fixture and pump/wires so you would never be able to get it out after vegging for a couple weeks. i think rumple can confirm this

TMI for me keep track of
I got Rumples cloner with no mods except maybe one more spray head.
100% success rate with roots after 7 days and potted in 10 days
Never misted anything at any time in my ops
Plain RO H20, ph unknown, with 1ml per gallon of GMB
there was one time I was running this & the results were slower & it was when I had this under different lights, everything still rooted but it took longer.
My stems under the neo disc start looking like they have been water blasted by the sprayers and then roots come out from everywhere.

My last ones went 10 days & then into 3 gal dirt containers with a good watering & off to veg for 2 weeks. Then to the flowering room. I have another batch in the clone machine due to come out this weekend.

Re: Lets Build a Clone Machine *Step by Step*

77401, what kind of light do you put it under?
I had mine in my veg room the closest I could get it to the T-5 light was 2' under and 1' over, not directly under it and I did notice it took for ever, moved to another box with a flourescent 24" clone light right over it, I'm seeing it start to root 4 days later now, big difference with more correct lighting.

Rumple. I was looking a your harvest and cure thread. Looks like having that net is important to have! Running that one bucket would be just fine for my 4 x 3 bloom area. Was that harvest height including the bucket? (I understand different ladies have different genetics, just curious) I hope so or I will have to do some bending. With my light at it's highest point, I have just under 5 1/2 feet of clearance.

After your cuttings grow roots, how long do you veg them for? (that was a ? I forgot to ask on the last post). I was told so many things but wanted to get the opinion of you and the others reading this.

Thanks again good people!
I grow my plant to 4.5 feet tall. my grow closet is about 8' tall but not all of it can be used for growing.

I veg for ten days.

also, you chuck your males right? or do you put them in the bubble bags?
Lol, I have not had a male in years. I grow from clones. Did I have to say that?

I have used all parts of my plant to make clones. Sure the tops make things simple, but you can use just about any part of a branch.

I have constructed a plastic bin clone machine based on the tips I found here. This is the first time I have tried to root cuttings and am a bit concerned. I took cuttings from various parts of three different mothers, some were healthier then others. The leaves are yellowing which I expected but it's looking like the leaves might die off before the roots form. I'm on day 12 right now and do not have much in the way of root growth, maybe a few extremely small sprouts but they are to small to tell and havn't grown much in the last 4-5 days.

Conditions:

Closet temp: 77 - stays consistant, door is open to veg room 18 hrs a day, other 6 hrs door closed w/ ventilation.

Distilled water temp: 85 - This seems like it's high. My garden shop was out of the pump I wanted so I got a bigger one. Probably to big. It's rated at 1000 gallons an hour . For the size of the pump its moving a really small ammount of water and is heating the water up to much. It sprays like crazy, I can't open the lid while its on or the closet gets soaked.

Lights: 24 hrs of Phillips T8 5k 4 ft tubes x 4. they are about 12" away from cuttings.

Possibilities I have come up with:

*Water temp to high
*To much water available to stem and plant doesn't need to focus on root production
*La Natural' no nutes no rooting hormones, just straight distilled. should be fine but ?
*Fresh Air, probably don't have enough. I'm concerned with the air exchange in my veg room and have been working on improving it. The air in the clone room comes from the veg room so yeah.
*light not close enough, about 12" from cuttings
*I need to exercise some patience. It's only day 12 but the leaves are yellowing pretty fast.

Any advice will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks for your time team.

Heres some pictures

If you can get the water temp to 80. Your cuttings look fine. Give them more time.

When they root, it goes nutz real fast. The roots grow real fast and will cover everything in the clone machine. So I would not veg it more then a few days in the clone machine.

Re: Lets Build a Clone Machine *Step by Step*

Thanks again Rumple. The force is strong with you.

My ballast can run both MH/HPS. Now I know what to do. My only issue now is CO2. I will start looking for a set-up asap.

In my readings it was said to give them 36 hours of straight darkness before flowering. Does anyone have an opinion on this?

Hey Rumple, I know you are doing the LED thing right now, had a ? about you buckets. Is that spout attached to the lid for filling purposes? If anyone can answer this it would be helpful cause the two I built doesn't have them.

Seymor
Mine is in my veg tent under 8lamp t5's 1/2 6500k & 1/2 3000k. It works exceptionally well in here. For a few weeks I had to put the cloner in another room with 2)4000K T8's & a 2300K CFL, that situation was slow to root.
Here is today's pic of my DinaFem Cali Hash plant @ 10 days old. I'll let her go a few more before puttin her in dirt.

The 36 hour thing is a waste of time if you ask me. Just switch the lights and be done with it.

I put a fill connection in the lid to help with stiring and filling.

Re: Lets Build a Clone Machine *Step by Step*

Thanks Rumple.

I'm going to use your three bucket system in my cabinet. Made some changes, now have just over 5 1/2 feet of clearance. I figure (looking at your pics) as long as the tubing stays well below the max fill line (3 1/2 gal) they will all level off properly.

Once again thanks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
