Hakko & pimple popper for hash and oil

Well, my new Hakko just arrived so I had to try it out. As luck would have it, I have some nice Sour Diesel full melt bubble hash and I knew the Hakko would be great for smoking it...but I didn't know just how great!

And here's the best part: I came up with a grrrreeeaaat way to smoke the hash. I have a "pimple popper" that came with a finger nail clipper set I got as a stocking stuffer a couple Christmases ago. I didn't even know what it was until my wife told me! LOL! Anyway...it works perfect for smoking the hash. Here's what it looks like:

Here's how: All I did was "scoop" a little dab of hash into the recessed area of the pimple popper and hold it over the edge of the bowl on my bong with my left hand. At the same time, I use the Hakko in my right hand and lightly poke the dab. The Hakko ignites the hash perfectly and there's hardly any residue or ash left over at all. And what flavor! No pollutants at all. I'm sure this technique would work for oil, too...I just don't have any to test it with...but soon...verrrry soon! Smilie

Plus, the Hakko also ignites dried bud without any pollution. Is there a difference in taste? YOU BET! I get the very best weed and the Hakko really allows the flavor to shine through way better than any lighter or hemp wick could do.

The downside is that it's more involved to use. But, for me, that's okay, because I respect the power of the weed/hash I smoke, so I smoke sparingly. And so when it's time to smoke, I don't mind going through a little bit more trouble so that I get the absolute most flavor out of it.

I'm going to get some nice amber oil or glass and try it next.

I spent $50 (shipped) on my Hakko and got the 40 watt version (because it's black and the cheaper version was baby blue). But now that I have it, I don't need to invest in a skillet or a dome!

Nice man, I have a "goo dabber" with a spoon on the end like yours, perfect for powdery bho. But I don't think you can really compare hakko/herb iron hits with dabs from a dome/curve. Dabs are just so awesome.

Yeah, I guess I can't really say if it's better than a dome or curve or not. But I can say it's a great way in its own right. I wasn't getting the most out of my hash by mixing it with my weed and smoking it that way. And other ways of smoking hash like hash under glass are too wasteful. The hakko instant vaporizes the hash into HEAVY smoke and there is just a fraction of residue left over. I'll probably get an oil rig someday, too. In the meantime, the Hakko is much easier to store away. The soldering tip is easily unscrewed but I plan on storing mine with the tip assembly on in order to protect the ceramic heating element.

For $50, I can now smoke lighter-pollutant-free and get the full flavor from herb and hash. Not bad, huh? Smilie

I just thought the pimple popper was a cool alternate-use thing and wanted to pass it on. It worked great!
