I have been upgrading my tents fpr my second grow which will be perpetual. Still trying to get the temps under control (2400 watts generates a lot of heat) but all looks well so far overall.

Now in the veg tent I have a 600W Ushio MH conversion instead of a generic chinese bulb. In the flowering tent I have 3 Eye Hortilux 600W HPS bulbs instead of 2 generic. And all are in good hoods. Light coverage is great! And the new lights really seems to have improved internode spacing and yield/density.

I am also trying out 3.5 and 5 gallon Airpots.

Right now I have three LSD fems at day 40, two Sleestack fems at 15 days and three sour lifesaver regs at 6 days. As you would expect the LSD's are the biggest and budding, the sleestacks are starting medium size and the sour lifesaver are still leafy and small.

In veg I have 4 reg Chocolopes.

I am running most of the AN line for this run while contemplating what to use next. Enough talk here are the pics.

  5. Been a kinda shitty couple of weeks, all due to my own stupidity! I need to spend more time with the girls. I had salt buildup with the LSD and Sleestack so I had to give them a good flush which was overdue. They're much happier now! I still feel sad when I see the burn tips though.

I also was a dumbass and had a bad light leak into the flowering tent for 2~3 days. The LSD started to grow little offshoot buds (foxtails?) with new white hairs and the Sleestack just slowed to a crawl. This was almost a week ago. So far no balls. Any ideas as to how this will affect me? I assume this has delayed the maturation date but I have no idea how much.

And then of my three Sour LifeSavers only one was a female. So the males were killed and the female is back in the veg tent to be cloned.

On a more positive note the Chocolopes are doing great. They have started to grow damn fast so I started bending the main stems on the 3 larger ones to keep them short (I want to keep vegging them until the LSD is done). One of them is slow and I am leaving it alone. Out of the 4 it looks like the two in the front are stretchier, the tall on in the back is the winner (fast with good inter node spacing) and one slow growing bush.

The LSD mother plant is getting huge, overall I am *very* pleased with the LSD. I have had to tie up a few branches that could not hold up the buds on her daughters. Here's the mom (the shot from above with the tape measure zooms well):

  8. i love the pots you have them in. i saw them on another site and they seem to be fn awesome. how are you liking them? i would put some plates under them tho... you have some runoff collecting. great place for molds and shit to form.
and MAYBE turn up the nitrogen on the veg girls. (they look a little pale) but again IMHO...

your setup and girls look awesome.
i would remove the tinfoil from the clone pot tho.
you are creating more hot spots than reflection.
ie...hydroton is better on top than tinfoil.

if you want/can Hdepot sells 1/4in styrofoam sheets.
would be perfect for "capping off" your pots.

poster-board would work just fine but would need replacement faster. (absorb moisture)

again bro, not harshing. just a positive critique from an outside observer.

    Greens to you.

  9. So far the air pots are great. They aerate very well but the downside is they dry out very fast. I can only handwater once a day and in the 3.5 gallon some fast growing plants dry out a lot in one day. The 5 gallons seem better suited to my situation.

I really need to get something better for the runoff, been so busy and have been slacking on some fo the small things.

I have been experimenting with the nutrient levels (just dropped them a bit), trying to find the right base mix. I probably will up the base nutrient a bit and leave the cal mag and B52 where it is.

I actually can't get rid of the foil yet, it's holding the plants in. I don't have net pots in there or any hydroton, I have the clones just hanging in the mist. I had more of those black discs and misplaced some. Ended up using some foil in the meantime. I'll have to dig up something better.

No worries, I'll take all the advice you have! Thanks.

And the chocolopes are doing great. I just started them in flowing 2 days ago and I think all 4 may be females. Good news after most of the sour lifesavers being male.:D

I have been bending them since they started growing fast, with 9-10 weeks to go I see lots of training in their future. Should yield great if I don't screw up with the new nutrients. I am running out of AN and have decided to try house and garden Cocos A+B + all their additives and great white. Those AN beneficials are too pricey and they want you to buy three. Anyone using H+G coco? What strength are you running?

  13. Dude, are you growing Oak trees!? That's a serious fat stem, and carpet of buds! Looking sweet, bro!! I apologize in advance, for not reading the entire thread, but it look like you're flowering out some mothers. Is that correct?

Also, I wanted to comment because I'm currently germinating some chocolope, and have some Airpots en route via UPS as we speak. It looks like they are working nicely for you. I'm gonna keep watching.

    Keep up the great job!

    Cheers,
    Past

  14. Yes, yes I am! :D

Thanks man! No worries, and you are correct. The big ass one is the mother of the smaller 2 LSD. Normally I cut the stem clean off with some snips when harvesting but I may have to break out the sawzall for this one! I can't wait to see they yield on the mothetr compared to her daughters.

The growth of the Chocolope is the Airpots is stellar. I have been bending them to keep them from growing too tall too fast. They are taking over the flowering tent by the day! They are so much bigger than last shown. I just started them on House and Garden and they seem to love it.

Let me know what you think about the pots. I like them but have lowered the amount of hydroton I am mixing in since they dry so much faster. I was doing nearly 30% for maximum aeration but now am down to 10%.

  15. Since these three LSD are all the same genetics I decided this would be a good chance for me to figure out how much amber I like in my indica. I am going to harvest the plants at different stages so I can get a better feel for it. The first will be in the 10-20% range, the second around 30% and the last around 50-60%.

    Trichomes!

  16. The LSD's are coming along well, they should have been harvested Monday based on the recommended 65 days. I'm guessing they'll be ready this weekend around day 70.

I have been switching over to House and Garden nutrients and so far I am very happy. The Sleestack just started on shooting powder and the Chocolope is just growing like crazy (week 3). She's growing fast but with tons of nodes, she's going to take over the tent. I will get some shots of her and the Slee. The Chocolope is so pretty, nice long thin leaves. Definitely some Sativa going on!

I had been having issues with getting the Sleestack dialed in with the AN feeding schedule, was following it too closely and I think the SLeestack needed the nutrients slowly increased through flowering. I had a mix that was working well in early flowering but once I hit week 6 they started to show deficiencies. I was going to use the last of the AN but decided since they were not happy I would try the H&G schedule. I had worries about switching mid flower but it seems to have been the correct decision. They immediately looked better and I just started them on shooting powder a few days ago- no burns and I swear the buds are bigger already!

I do not think I will be buying more AN stuff, so far I like H&G better! I like the convenience of one base mix and a more accurate feeding chart. When I started suing AN I had to find a strength that did not burn the plants, but so far with H&G it appears you can actually use the recommended amount and not kill you plants. Nice!:hello: And great white + roots excelurator is badass!

I h ad to untie this LSD (actually the smallet of the three) to move her and she is falling all over. Just cant handle her own weight!

  17. nice thread, and some sweet camera work

  18. Thanks WP!

Only ended up with one good chocolope female but she is amazing. She is very fast growing like the male that was growing next to her but her node spacing is way better. Over the past few weeks I have been bending her out to take up the whole 2"x4" space that is avalable to her and to keep heer low as she was going way too fast for a plant with 8 weeks to go. She would have been out of the tent by then.

She is so pretty. I love the delicate looking sativa leaves. I just hope I can keep her under control for another couple of months! And damn does she go through the water/nutes. A dripper and more H&G Cocos would be nice right about now!

  19. Looking phenomenal dude. I like seeing those strains done right, and in different ways. I'm using airpots in coco too. different nutes though, cheaper ones because i'm poor. I am at the smallest air pot so far, but will be transplanting and switching to bloom soon. only issue i have had so far is the media doesn't always fill in the sides, so i've been packing it. well hopefully it will work out. by the way, are you mixing in the hydroton with your coco? is that an alternative to perlite (you prefer it?)?

  20. Thanks for the kind words!

The smaller 3.5 pots did good on the last few plants but I am very glad I got the 5 gal for the chocolope. This thing is just crazy and the root system is massive. If I feed once a day it is very dry for the top inch or two. You can't even stick your finger in to the coco to check for water content because you'll have to break through the super dense layer of roots. I have never seen this much root matter per volume (and at only 3 weeks flowering, 4 week veg). This si also my first grow with H&G roots excelurator and great white, perhaps that has something to do with it. Only more grows with it will tell.

I am using hydroton instead of perlite, which I initially started doing because I had a bag that I was using for the aero cloner. Figured it was one less item to keep around the house and I had heard good things about it. And it's big enough when I'm done it' pretty easy to blow off the dried coco and keep the hydroton for reuse (let it dry out and it's easier to separate). I reused a few times but H&G does not recommend that when using shooting powder (and I have noticed a few times I must not have flushed well enough I had some burn). So I am just going to start separating the hydroton and putting the coco in the garden with the tomatoes. If I had perlite laying around I would not hesitate to use it either, just kinda figured I'd be different!
