Flying Overseas for Cheap! The first time I went to Amsterdam was in the summer of 03. It just happened that one airline was running a special to the Dam for about $500 RT but I waited a day too long and missed the boat on the special fare which immediately jumped up to about $800. So what did I do? Knowing the special had literally just ended I went to priceline put in $450 for the flight and 20 minutes I was booked and ready to go. This was over labor day weekend mind you and I was flying out of Boston. Last year I went to the Dam again in mid July and paid $700 RT on Iberia who happened to be offering a special. So all I can say is if you want to get the lowest possible fare constantly research and be in the know and strike when you can. In the winter time I've seen flight as low as $350RT out of Boston. Prices drop another $20-50 if you fly out of a larger city like NY. Also Qixo.com is another great flight search engine.
