I am going to take advantage of the blog feature here at Grass City. I am doing this for you GC. I love it here and I think that my fellow blades are some pretty cool stoners and stonerettes. You can always expect a few things at my blog like my opinion and experiences with different strains of cannabis. Another thing is comedy. Happy Cookies - "Our most effective edible"

Posted 12-23-2007 at 10:38 PM by CaliCoast (CaliCoast's Attempt At A Blog)
Updated 06-25-2008 at 08:13 PM by CaliCoast (fix imgs.)

A few weeks ago I picked up a few edibles at the co-op. I asked the caregiver which one is the most effective and she directed me to Happy Cookies. Chocolate chocolate chip cookies, Happy Cookies are rich and dense. Definitely goes nice with glass of ice cold milk. There are trace flavors of the cooked cannabis, but the rich chocolate flavor masks it well. Since I have quite a high tolerance I figured I would devour the entire cookie and see how I felt. I started noticing an initial head change...

Skunk Train - "You could smell it before you saw it."

Posted 12-22-2007 at 08:14 PM by CaliCoast (CaliCoast's Attempt At A Blog)
Updated 05-28-2008 at 06:11 PM by CaliCoast

Ahhhh more "down low" or "under the counter" medication. This time I was in the co-op and I overheard another patient discussing Skunk Train with one of the caregivers. Ah hah, I found out your little secret. Along with Blueberry I guess they have a special called Skunk Train. I wasn't able to get a straight answer from the caregivers as to what the genetics of Skunk Train were. One might suspect a Trainwreck x mystery Skunk, but the Skunk Train was on old logging road turned...

Monkey Balls - The sativa leaning pheno???

Posted 12-17-2007 at 09:49 PM by CaliCoast (CaliCoast's Attempt At A Blog)
Updated 05-28-2008 at 06:17 PM by CaliCoast

Monkey Balls huh? So I have never heard of Monkey Balls but I looked into the strain a little and found that Monkey Balls is another name for a strain called Deep Chunk or Death Cabbage. From my knowledge Deep Chunk is typically a genetically purple indica however this stuff being passed as Monkey Balls does not look like the DC I have seen before. But fuck it, it's the only Monkey Balls or Deep Chunk I have seen in a minute.

The bag appeal of this batch of so so. Semi dense crispy

Banana Purps - Smells great but...

Posted 12-15-2007 at 03:09 AM by CaliCoast (CaliCoast's Attempt At A Blog)
Updated 05-28-2008 at 06:18 PM by CaliCoast

For a few weeks now I have been wanting to sample this type of bud called Banana Purps. I noticed this bud a few weeks ago and it wasn't the bag appeal that appeased my senses necessarily but rather the smell. For lack of a better word, it's amazing. An indica dominant hybrid, this batch of Banana Purps barely had any hues of purple at all. The nugs are dense and rock hard and trichome accumulation is mild but with decent resin production inside the bud . Like I mentioned before the aroma is sweet...

GDP - It's good like the Granddaddy

Posted 12-09-2007 at 09:02 PM by CaliCoast (CaliCoast's Attempt At A Blog)
Updated 05-28-2008 at 06:22 PM by CaliCoast

In California it seems that we go crazy for purple and GDP has helped calm the craze none. With hundreds if not thousands of different purple strains, Purple Urkel, Grape Ape and Purple Kush to name a few, GDP has risen to the top and identified itself as a strain worthty of the buzz and hype. As far as the genetics are concerned, IMO there is no definitive answer to what the genetic background of GDP is. Rumored to be a Purple Urkel/Big Bud cross or a Mendo Purps pheno, whatever the genetics are,...

Blueberry - Under the counter???

Posted 12-06-2007 at 03:20 AM by CaliCoast (CaliCoast's Attempt At A Blog)
Updated 05-28-2008 at 06:26 PM by CaliCoast

So recently I learned that the co-op I usually go to has "under the counter" meds, meaning they have specials that they don't advertise and currently their under the counter special is Blueberry. Much like the OG Kush and AK-47, I haven't smoked this herb in a long time. I want to blaze some bomb that gives me those feelings of back in the day. So I figured I would get an eigth since that is the maximum ration of Blueberry per week. Okay whatever, this shit better be orgasmic if it's so...

Blue Dot - That Medical Grade Bud

Posted 12-01-2007 at 07:32 PM by CaliCoast (CaliCoast's Attempt At A Blog)

As well as scoring any nice dank that "catches my eye" so to speak, I like to sample any available clone only strains that are popular in the SF Bay Area. One strain that I have heard a lot about is Blue Dot. Originally called MGB or Medical Grade Bud, this sativa dominant hybrid is said to have been developed by by a medical patient from Sonoma, California.

Light trichome accumulation on the exterior of the gold hued super dense bud actually made for decent bag appeal although

Purple Ponic - Like I Said Before, Berry Cheerios

Posted 11-27-2007 at 08:49 PM by CaliCoast (CaliCoast's Attempt At A Blog)

So the latest dankage I've been puffing on lately is this interesting bud called Purple Ponic. I am not 100% sure of the genetics other than it's a sativa dominant hybrid. When I'm at the dispensary it is often hard to choose between so many different types of dank. I usually never know what I'm going to get however when I smelled this stuff I was sold. Besides from the nice bag appeal, modest trichomes and purple hues, the aroma of this bud is amazing. Smells very similar to Berry Cheerios or Fruity...

Afghooey - The Sticky Icky

Posted 11-22-2007 at 05:10 PM by CaliCoast (CaliCoast's Attempt At A Blog)

There are a lot of strains that are popular within the SF Bay Area medical clinics and Afghooey being one of them. I was pretty impressed at first glance, the light and fluffy nugs are heavily laden with a crystal ball like coating of trichomes. The trichomes are so densely packed on the buds, leafs and stems that it makes working with, by hand, a very sticky venture indeed. There is no wonder why they call this plant Afghooey. The bud is some of the more stickier buds I have handled in a while....

Hasan - Bongs not bombs in the mid east

Posted 11-16-2007 at 11:45 PM by CaliCoast (CaliCoast's Attempt At A Blog)
Updated 05-28-2008 at 06:29 PM by CaliCoast (The images were all fucked up)

Now I am not 100% sure of what the genetic background of Hasan, except for the fact that it's an indica dominant hybrid, but with a name like Hasan I would guess that it has some genetics from the middle east. I don't know about you but I love strains that have genetics from places like Afghanistan, Pakistan, Nepal, India etc. Those mid east strains have a special sweet spot in my stoner heart due to their sweet aroma, complex flavors and quality highs.

Hasan has some nice bag appeal.
