What's up my fellow Blades? I thought I would post up this little tutorial on how I press my loose kief into wafers aka 'Dry Block Kief'. This was taken from a thread I made but I thought my blog would make a better home for it. Thanks for stopping in again and enjoy this quick, simple and cheap way to press your loose kief.

What's good GC? I had a little extra time on my hands so I thought I'd make this simple tutorial on how to press your loose kief into thin, manageable wafers. If you're like me you probably love smoking kief and hash, but as we all know loose kief is not the most manageable material in the world. So in this tutorial I'll show you how to make a cheap and easy press capable of applying more pressure than the old warm wine bottle and most simple presses out there.

Here's your parts list:
1) C-clamp
2) 2 wooden blocks
3) Clear rolling papers or similar cellulose material
4) Of course, kief

I purchased the big c-clamp at my local hardware store for around $15.00, the clear papers came in an edition of High Times and the wooden blocks were left over from another project. So all in all you're not going to have to make a huge investment for this small project.

First place your kief in a clear paper/cellulose and fold into a small packet. Notice the lines on the clear paper that I use to help me fold the kief into a packet.

Place the packet in between the two wooden blocks and place in c-clamp. Tighten the c-clamp until it's nice and snug and leave overnight. In the end you should have something like this.

Now your kief is compact, easy to manage and store with minimal loss of product. Let's blaze GC

What's good Grass City? Shit man I know I've been lacking on the blogs recently, sorry about that. My excuses are lame so I won't get into those :D.

So I thought I would write up a report on some of my homegrown Sour Cream. The strain was developed by DNA Genetics and these were grown from clones that I picked up in SF. To say the least, I was very happy with the final results and quality of Sour Cream. The bag appeal is great. Loads of shiny trichomes that glisten in the sunlight and the buds turned out to be nice and compact with lots of wispy 'pubic' like pistils lol. The aroma is suberb as well. Super citrus like aroma that nearly makes your mouth water. Ever think about eating a sour candy or biting into a lemon and have your mouth automatically salivate? That's whats happening right now as I write about the aroma. So to say the very least things are looking good so far.

As usual, I proceeded to roll up a nice joint and prepared to analyze the high of Sour Cream. Before lighting up I took a few dry drags through the rolled joint for a 'dry' taste of the bud. Again my mouth started to salivate, not wanting to waste another second I lit her up. This strain tastes nearly identical to the aroma. Very citrus like, sour and mighty tasty. I also noticed the flavor was pretty consistant from start to finish, that is to say the bud did not taste burny or ashy when nearing the end.

After smoking 3/4 of the joint I started to notice a head change. The buzz starts out in a nice haze like cerebral high, one that has your head nearly floating in the clouds. Smoking a joint of this on a hot summer day, surrounded California pine trees is pure bliss. As the high progressed I noticed it sort of mellowed out into a more indica type feeling that had me wanting to just chill out and watch a movie. But not to the state that I was a zoned out zombie lying half comatose on the couch lol. The 'old lady' said it made her burnt when the high subsided but she always passes out no matter what kind of weed she's toking lol. So to me, Sour Cream has a nice blend of both sativa and indica properties. It may cause minor burn out to some, but I didn't experience anything so negative that would cause Sour Cream to lose points.

In closing I would have to say that Sour Cream is a great smoke. Somewhere in the upper realm of the dank spectrum. If you want something to smoke that has an explosive citrus flavor, then Sour Cream is for you. No hints of skunk or pine to be found, pure lemons baby! Besides the fact that my old lady says it makes her feel burnt, I can't really find anything else to complain about. I also noticed Sour Cream has great muscle relaxing qualities which is perfect for my medical condition. I'm glad I was able to get my hands on a cut of this.

So thanks to everyone who enjoys my blogs and for those who stop by. k money main, glassmaster420 c20isgood, bandit420 and so many more, thank you. Peace everyone and keep those bowls packed and your bong water clean. Until next time.

*Cough*Cough*Cough

What's good my fellow GC? Just thought I would throw another review towards your way with some Strawberry Haze. From my understanding this is not "Arjan's" Strawberry Haze but rather a cross between Strawberry Cough and Super Silver Haze. Well since SC and SSH are some of my favorite smokes I thought this variety might be a winner.

The nugs are a unique golden color with an almost reddish brown hue. Amber trichomes cover this batch of semi dense Strawberry Haze. Overall the bag appeal isn't the type to jump out of the crowd but was very interesting at least to my eyes.

The aroma of Strawberry Haze hits you like with an overwhelming cloud of sweet sultry goodness that one is reminded of the beauty and complexities of well grown marijuana. The smell is very reminiscent of Strawberry Cough with an extra punch provided by the Super Silver Haze. Another way to describe the aroma would be a cornucopia of summer fruit in a bed of pine needles.

So as usual I proceeded to roll a fat J and headed outside to basque in the sweet smoke of Strawberry Haze. The flavor was similar to the aroma with more of an emphasis on the pine side surprisingly. Very sweet but not as sweet tasting as Strawberry Cough or SSH. The flavor was very consistant throughout the entire joint which was lovely. The lung expansion, I have to note, was very heavy. I was taking hits from the joint and it felt like I was inhaling through an air compressor lol.

I started feeling the head change around halfway through the joint but continued to finish it though. Needless to say at this point I was pretty lifted. I would describe the high as relaxing, social and very functional. I was running around taking care of business without feeling tired or too sedated. A low burnout factor contributed to the overall high score of this pickup of Strawberry Haze. And to top off the whole experience, the high duration was very good. So all in all I have to give high marks to Strawberry Haze. A very nice example of medical cannabis. I would most definitely place Strawberry Haze in the middle-upper levels of the dank spectrum. So if you need a pick me up with a nice buzz, Strawberry Haze could be for you.

(Having image troubles, sorry guys I'll get the images up soon)

Yeah it's that time again for another installment of "CaliCoast's Attempt At A Blog". I thought this time I would talk about this variety this grower is calling Monterey Kush. Supposedly it is an OG Kush pheno that is grown in Monterey, California.

From the looks it definitely looks similar to some OG Kush I smoked recently. The bag appeal is pretty good. Nice trichome production glistens in the sun on light green, semi dense buds. The aroma is similar to the OG Kush I recently smoked, a somewhat citrus/lemony pine aroma. Pretty good to say the least.

So I proceeded to roll a nice personal joint and get lifted. At first hit I could taste the similarities of this pheno to OG. Very lemony. The buzz hit me right on time or about 3/4 through the joint for a nice mildly heady buzz that leaned more on the indica side however. This pheno is definitely not as cerebral compared to the recent OG Kush. The flavor got a little burny towrads the end but not enough to cause problems. Lung expansion was actually moderate and the buzz duration was pretty good but had mild couch lock properties towards the end. The high is also functional and social, as I was blabbing away all night blazed on Monterey Kush.

All in all Monterey Kush was pretty good bud. I would place it somewhere in the middle of the dank spectrum due to it's mild couch lock properties and burn out properties. I would definitely rate this pheno as being lower in quality and potency compared to the OG Kush I copped a while back but nevertheless still good smoke. I'm glad I got a chance to smoke a different sister of OGK and I could see similarities and differences like all siblings.

What's good Grass City? I thought this time I would do a smoke report on a special little strain I picked up recently called Cinderella 99 aka C99. Originally a creation from Brother's Grimm, Cinderella 99's genetic background is somewhat contentious. I have heard it was Jack Herer crossed with an unknown male or Jack Herer x Shiva Skunk. I've read and heard a lot but here's is the breeder's description of Cinderella 99.

Quote:

This strain may be the "Holy Grail". The result of painstakingly backcrossing a very rare female to her male progeny over 3 generations. This hybrid was specifically bred for indoor cultivation. Short-statured & heavily branched, this plant grows long, dense colas with an extremely high flower/leaf ratio and outrageous resin production. The breeder has observed a "giant leap" in potency with each progressive generation and, as expected, Cinderella 99 has topped all previous results - her high is heavily influenced by Haze; clear, energetic & devastatingly psychoactive. A plant with all of the above is rare enough, but Cinderella 99 finishes flowering after a scant 50 days of 12/12! Above-average yields of crystal covered buds reeking of tropical fruit aromas can be harvested every other month once a mother plant is selected and asexually propagated.

Whatever the true genetics are may be forever unknown to me but for sure it is a sativa dominant hybrid.

As for bag appeal this batch of Cinderella 99 was full of nice glistening trichomes on some semi dense buds. If I didn't know that this was C99 I might mistake it for your average ordinary dank. But just the look of the buds was pretty good. The aroma reminded me of a citus/rotten fruit. Interesting to say the least. So if you follow my blog you'll know I roll up a joint using Raw papers for each report so each method of delivery is consistent(and it's the first smoke of the day) and this time was no different. The flavor of C99 was similar to the smell without the rotting aspect of it. Sort of fruity pine. The taste was pretty consistent from beginning to end but only got mildly burny towards the end. But nice flavor all around.

I felt the head change about 3/4 through the joint and the high was turning out to be quite average, so I thought at first. About five minutes later I noticed what I thought was a massive drop in pressure in my eyes. That's what my stoned thinking was at the time and I thought that glaucoma sufferers might find some relief. I don't know if my optic fluid pressure actually dropped but I really felt an intense "high" feeling in my eyes. More noticeable than most varieties. A few minutes after that I was cleaning up and I found myself singing "Take The Money And Run" out loud only to stop myself and think "wow I was singing to myself and didn't even know it!" Needless to say this high quality of C99 is outstanding and I can vouch for it's trippy, cerebral and visual high. And to top it all off the high duration was pretty good too without a drastic burned out feeling when coming down.

So if you read my experience on Cinderella 99 I would have to give my Elite Spectrum seal of approval for C99. Potent, tasty, with great high duration and quality, Cinderella 99 is a true connousieur variety and I seriously would NOT recommend this for beginner smokers. Cinderella 99 is truly at the top with the heavyweights of the cannabis world and truly is a gem for all of us to behold. Well that about wraps it up for this edition of CaliCoast's attempt at a blog, so keep that glass packed and those eye's red fellas. Haha, you know how we do!

What's going down GC? Are my blades nice and blazed? I hope so! Dam it has been a while since I posted an entry and I thought I would open this dry spell with a Lamb's Breath review. So I guess this stuff is an indica dominant cross with some Jamaican land race genetics. I'm sure most of you have heard of Lamb's Bread Collie and I could go on and on about what I have heard about it and I'm sure I'll have a conversation with a few of you. That's for later now for the Lamb's Breath report. As far as bag appeal and appearance, Lamb's Breath has a unique golden hue with moderate trichome production. Not very dense and almost light buds it had a unique tea like/Earthy aroma that was almost a putrid dank smell. It wasn't in the realm of stanky danky like Cat Piss but can be called one of those "stink so good" varieties.

So as usual I rolled up a nice J and started trying to decipher the flavors and texture of this variety. The flavor was surprisingly similar to the smell and got burny tasting about half way through. The initial buzz kicked in towards the end of the joint for an even mellow buzz. After smoking this throughout the week I kept feeling like Lamb's Breath put me in a more stable state of mind. Very social and fairly functional. I was running errands around town and didn't feel tired or slowed down. But I had a better time just kicking back on the couch and relaxing with the munchies. The overall high duration was decent as well so I can't complain about that.

I would say overall the bud was pretty good. The mellow and relaxing state of mind of the high is the characteristic that sticks out the most for me and I want to note that the potency is somewhat mild. I would suggest this variety to any medical users who might be suffering from anxiety. This stuff makes you feel like really at ease. I wouldn't say however that the high of this batch was "commercial", so if you are looking for that I would suggest something else.

Without a doubt Jack Herer is in the top five of my favorite strains. I always find myself hooking up with Jack Herer on the regular and I thought the last report I did on Jack Herer really did not do it justice. Since I'm always picking up Jack Herer I thought why not write another report.

Jack Herer, a Sensi Seeds masterpiece, is a sativa dominant hybrid that is the product of years and years of selective breeding. The exact strain lineage of Jack Herer remains a trade secret, although there is much speculation about what it is and I have no doubt why they want to keep it that way. Jack Herer is truly a work of art that has become one of the primary medical strains for myself and the Netherlands.

This particular batch of JH is some of the best I have ever seen. Plentiful bright diamond like trichomes completely blind you in a disco ball glare that is a Jack Herer nugget. Bag appeal is off the charts for this batch of super dense Jack Herer. The aroma is a citrus pine smell that has a really sharp tang to it that I fail to put into words adequately.

On the first hit of the joint the full flavor of Jack Herer really hits you almost as intensely as the aroma. Mild citrus undertones with a heavy pine flavor, Jack Herer tastes good from start to finish. But don't be fooled by the amazing taste and smooth flavor, Jack Herer will have your lungs expanding like a balloon.

The buzz hit me 3/4 down the joint for a highly cerebral and soaring buzz. I would also like to note the buzz is very functional and social with great pain relief qualities. High medical points for JH. Along with the high quality buzz the high duration is good as well. No ceiling to the high and I could get nice and blazed session after session throughout the day.

All in all top notch cannabis and my hat's off to Ben Dronkers of Sensi and their quality breeding. There is no doubt in my mind that Jack Herer is at the top of the dank spectrum. So if any of you have the chance to score some JH, jump at it and don't delay cause this stuff literally sells itself. Well thanks again blades for another round of my blaze reports.

So recently I had the good luck of picking up some Super Silver Haze. The last time I saw it on a menu the mutherfuckers were sold out and ever since I have been trying hard to get a hold of some. I have heard a lot about the strain so when the opportunity presented itself I jumped and acquired some Super Silver Haze the other day.

The bag appeal of Super Silver Haze is top notch. Bright trichomes glisten in the light on beaming buds that scream cream of the crop. This batch is cured to perfection and all hail to the grower of this batch for sure. I respectfully thank you and it would be my honor to blaze your buds in all of it's glory in a fiery puff of smoke.

The aroma is an outstanding complex cornucopia of fruity sweetness. Highly aromatic, Super Silver Haze delivers a bouquet of delicious aromas and scents. The flavor of super silver haze, for lack of a better description, is amazing. It's almost like smoking candy and the amazing fruity flavor is beyond description. My words fail at describing how good Super Silver Haze tastes. From spark to roach the flavor remains consistent.

The buzz hit me really fast. Halfway through a fat joint and I put that motherfucker out for later. Super soaring soaring soaring buzz, intense cerebral high for sure. Very potent bud to say the least, very little was required in order for me to have the desired effects.

Buzz longevity was really nice for a small amount of bud being used. No ceiling to the buzz as I could get keep on getting a nice bud with every joint I smoked throughout the day. Upper echelon of the dank spectrum for sure I have found a new member of my favorite top ten. High points for flavor, bag appeal, buzz quality and longevity, Super Silver Haze is a crowd pleaser for sure.

In a recent trip to a local collective a special strain caught my eye that I haven't smoked since 2Pac and Biggie were alive. Ahhh beautiful Black Widow. According to the breeder's description Black Widow is a Brazilian sativa crossed with a south Indian hybrid. Sounds delicious huh? At first glance I noticed that the buds have nice amount of trichomes with a distinct dark, olive drab color that I can see how it can be interpreted as having a black hue to the them. I interpreted the aroma as sweet, piney, hashy with an almost tea like smell to it.

So as usual I rolled up a nice joint and proceeded to light up. The first few hits were sweet with undertones of fruit and hash that had my taste buds dancing. The flavor got a little burny towards the end of the joint but I can't really complain about that. The buzz hit me about 3/4 through the joint for an initial cerebral and narcotic high. Very functional, high energy and social, the high of this batch of Black widow was very euphoric as well. It was almost as if I couldn't feel the emotion of anger even if I tried. Very relaxing with no anxiety or paranoia feelings at all. The only downside I could see with this bud was the high duration or how long the high lasted. I would characterize the buzz as somewhat shorter than normal but not to the effect of a "crack weed" high. However with the short high duration I did not notice any ill couchy effects or burnout with Black Widow.

So overall I would like to place Black Widow somewhere in the middle/upper echelon of the dank spectrum. Even with the somewhat short high duration the buzz quality is A++ in my opinion. Black Widow has some nice pain relieving medical qualities and I would recommend this strain to anybody, especially towards people who suffer from depression or anxiety because this bud seemed to have me beaming with positive and relaxing vibes.

So all in all I would consider Black Widow to be a fine example of quality cannabis with its good medical points, flavor and buzz quality. If you ever have the chance to get some of this stuff I highly recommend it. Most likely you won't be disappointed.

So until next report blades stay high, stay nice and above all, stay safe!

What's going down stoners and stonerettes? Just kicking back with another blaze report on a strain I've never smoked before, Black Domina. I have heard that Black Domina provides good pain relieving qualities and since my UC is giving me problems, this is just what I was looking for. After closer inspection I noticed that this example of cannabis afghanica has a very nice heavy coating of crystal like trichomes on rock hard, hyper dense nuggets with inner light purple hues. You definitely need a grinder with this bud if you are going to roll, otherwise it's like rolling a bunch of pebbles. The aroma of Black Domina is somewhat interesting. Thick and bold with hints of sweet incense, this hashy smelling bud definitely pleases my senses. I have to give the thumbs up in terms of bag appeal.

Like I mentioned before, I would recommend the use of a grinder in you are going to roll. So I proceeded to roll a nice joint in my new favorite papers, Raw and I was up in smoke before I knew it. The taste is very similar to the aroma. Sweet and hashy with Earthy incense undertones that turned somewhat burny toward the end of the joint but not to the point where it was undesireable. I found the smoke to be quite smooth with a high lung expansion factor. I was feeling the head change in about average time, 3/4 of the way down the joint. I was hit with a surprisingly heady buzz that was followed by a deep narcotic body stone that truly had nice pain relief qualities. And high duration was above average. Somewhat couchy towards the end of the high but that met my needs since I am having pains related to my UC. I normally don't get affected too much by "burn out" or couch lock but I did noticed a tendency to get knocked out by this strain. A sweet good night strain if you know what I mean.

In closing Black Domina is an elite medical strain. The great pain relieving properties, non anxiety, ultra relaxing and high quality buzz produced by Black Domina definitely deserve it to be placed high in the spectrum of dank. While recreational users might be turned off by its couch lock tendencies or non "commercial high", I believe that medical users will find great value in this strain. I think I may actively look for cuttings of this strain since it has found a place in my medical cabinet. Well to all the folks who read this, thank you and I hope these reports serve you well. Peace y'all and until next time, stay medicated.
