I am going to take advantage of the blog feature here at Grass City. I am doing this for you GC. I love it here and I think that my fellow blades are some pretty cool stoners and stonerettes. You can always expect a few things at my blog like my opinion and experiences with different strains of cannabis. Another thing is comedy. I love getting stoned and laughing my ass off to something about Mary Jane. I love her with all my heart.

GDP - It's good like the Granddaddy
In California it seems that we go crazy for purple and GDP has helped calm the craze none. With hundreds if not thousands of different purple strains, Purple Urkel, Grape Ape and Purple Kush to name a few, GDP has risen to the top and identified itself as a strain worthty of the buzz and hype. As far as the genetics are concerned, IMO there is no definitive answer to what the genetic background of GDP is. Rumored to be a Purple Urkel/Big Bud cross or a Mendo Purps pheno, whatever the genetics are, GDP is fine ganja indeed and perhaps an indica dominant hybrid. At first glance the intense hues of deep purple are present throughout the buds with a modest trichome accumulation on super rock hard dense buds. While trying to gauge the aroma of GDP I noticed delicate subtle undertones of sweet grape candy along with that super heavy and bold hashy aroma. Very very dank and pungent aroma indeed.
While blazing a fat J, I noticed the intense and bold flavor of GDP coming through. Intensly hashy with mild sweet grape undertones, the flavor of GDP is fantastic IMO. Tasty from start to finish. I would also like to note the powerful smell that clouds of GDP create. I am sure that my neighbors caught a whiff of this stuff cause the smoke definitely packs a punch. I would recommend dorm room tokers to take extra precaution when concealing the powerful presence of the GDP smoke.
The high hit me right on time for a nice narcotic buzz. For an indica dominant hybrid, GDP produced a nice sativa like buzz with heavy indica body stone characteristics that had this sativa lover satisfied. The best of both worlds. GDP's buzz was a nice narcotic high but not very functional IMO and somewhat couchy towards the end of the buzz. As far as the high longevity, I would say it is about average.
So in closing I would like to express my satisfaction and approval of this fine example of cannabis. Once a California clone only strain, GDP has spread like wildfire throughout the States for good reason. I would place GDP somewhere in the upper echelon of the dank spectrum. This old friend has failed to disappoint me and I am looking forward to my next union with the Graddaddy.
