| Pug | The Share Your Camera Thread!
Well, I've seen many threads dedicated to many blade's photography skills, and I am impressed, but I have not seen a single thread dedicated to the tool that helped you capture that photograph. "My eyes?" "The camera, fiend!" So, if you are a GC photographer, or you have simply taken some bud shots that deserve a look see, share the camera you used, and a single sample image from that camera! If you don't have a second camera to take pictures of your main one, just search 'Google' for your model, and I'm sure you'll find something. If not, check out http://www.bhphotovideo.com/ and type the model into the search and use their image. I, myself, am using a Canon 30D. I've been having sensor follies recently, so when mom gets home we're shipping it over to the warehouse, but I figured I would snap a few shots with my point and shoot that I started off with when I first got into photography. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() My sample image, taken with the 17-85. I know, soft focusing on the droplet, not that great, but that was my first attempt at water droplets. I plan on doing more once I get my camera back from the shop. ![]() Let's see 'em, everyone!

| Pug | You don't need to start off at the top of the line, that's my advice. I started out with a refurbished Canon Powershot A95. Much to be hoped for in the long-shoot department, but it is tack sharp for macro work, and general portraiture. I have also done some great architecture shots with it. Stick with either Canon or Nikon starting off. I like Nikon for colors (Any D200 users will know exactly what I mean), but Canon is a reliable company, and their sensors are wonderful. Here are some of the shots I took with my A95, which I still keep around. You can buy one for $100, a price which has been marked down three-fold since I bought it. ![]() ![]() ![]()

She's a little bit country, he's a little bit rock-and-roll. ![]() ![]() Canon makes nice digital SLRs, no doubt. But like somebody else said, there's something about the color depth on the Nikon sensors.... ![]() I like Nikon's ergonomics (button placement) and in-camera software more too. And can you reprogram the Canon buttons? Like sometimes I switch my exposure/focus lock with my shutter button. I won't go into why here, but that sort of flexibility is a huge plus for me.
