The Share Your Camera Thread!

Well, I've seen many threads dedicated to many blade's photography skills, and I am impressed, but I have not seen a single thread dedicated to the tool that helped you capture that photograph.

"My eyes?"

"The camera, fiend!"

So, if you are a GC photographer, or you have simply taken some bud shots that deserve a look see, share the camera you used, and a single sample image from that camera!

If you don't have a second camera to take pictures of your main one, just search 'Google' for your model, and I'm sure you'll find something. If not, check out http://www.bhphotovideo.com/ and type the model into the search and use their image.

I, myself, am using a Canon 30D. I've been having sensor follies recently, so when mom gets home we're shipping it over to the warehouse, but I figured I would snap a few shots with my point and shoot that I started off with when I first got into photography.

My sample image, taken with the 17-85. I know, soft focusing on the droplet, not that great, but that was my first attempt at water droplets. I plan on doing more once I get my camera back from the shop.

Let's see 'em, everyone!

YES!

Ah, the Rebel XT. I almost went the Xti (400D) route, but I had a sudden burst of ambition, as it were, to move up in the world right from the beginning.

I have a Kodak Share C350 5.0 Megapixel

it pretty much sucks for anything remotely close up. But it's a decent snap and shoot for people very far away from being a photographer(like me)

I've been using a Cannon Powershot A95 lately for school. I'm not much of a photographer, but it seems pretty nice.

sample shot from an assignment. I was going to change the time to 420, but I didn't want my activities to be blatantly obvious so its 4:15

You are kidding, man.

That's the camera I used to take my SLR's pictures with.

Fantastic camera, it inspired my photography this past couple years. It was my very first digital camera.

You'll be fine, man, just keep working at it.

You don't need to start off at the top of the line, that's my advice.

I started out with a refurbished Canon Powershot A95. Much to be hoped for in the long-shoot department, but it is tack sharp for macro work, and general portraiture. I have also done some great architecture shots with it.

Stick with either Canon or Nikon starting off. I like Nikon for colors (Any D200 users will know exactly what I mean), but Canon is a reliable company, and their sensors are wonderful.

Here are some of the shots I took with my A95, which I still keep around. You can buy one for $100, a price which has been marked down three-fold since I bought it.

She's a little bit country, he's a little bit rock-and-roll.

Canon makes nice digital SLRs, no doubt. But like somebody else said, there's something about the color depth on the Nikon sensors....

I like Nikon's ergonomics (button placement) and in-camera software more too. And can you reprogram the Canon buttons? Like sometimes I switch my exposure/focus lock with my shutter button. I won't go into why here, but that sort of flexibility is a huge plus for me.

I haven't tested the D70, only the D200. I love the D200 but, for some reason, I went with Canon. When I test the D70, I'll let you know what I think.
