Totally redesigned my personal website today.

spent 14 hours on it

Sire of Thought

it was the single most challenging design I have EVER attempted
for ages i couldn't get the fibonacci spirals to drop BELOW the buttons
and even figuring out how to put the buttons in those positions was hugely difficult
the easiest part was making the animation
i just set up 8 fibonacci spirals going clockwise and overlaid 8 fibonacci spirals going anticlockwise and rotated it by 1/8 and 1/5, respectively over a period of two seconds and exported it in swf format
there was no gradient, that's just an overlaid png i calibrated to sit directly over the edges of the swf

the animation represents the universe
and also makes an effort to include all the fibonacci found in nature
i think it's a really beautiful and interesting concept
the circular design implies wholeness and completeness, making me look like a reliable designer and the way it holds the whole universe inside implies i can think outside the box and have a universal skill that i can apply to almost anything
the blue colour is #005183, a colour i use in all of my designs
i've tied it into symphonum, my alternate reality game, and it keeps a consistent theme to my designs.
