They are really fun to do, and there are no concrete ideas of what i'm going to draw, until the end of a piece. I'll usually start with an eye, and just flow from there.
Its cool to see how they end up, from just starting with a small area, eventually filling out a creature. cool stuff.
The thing i love about them, is that since there are so many "eyes" in there, you can block off sections, and see faces within faces. Some drawings do this better than others, but you get the idea.

All these drawings were done in my sketchbook, but i've been working on a bigger scale, and plan on doing bigger versions of all of them on canvas. Here is a work in progress:

Since its a bigger scale, the detail is insane, and its taking me forever! But i'm sure it'll be worth it in the end. cool.

Actually, i'm an effects artist (explosions, fire, etc) for Video Games. currently working on an XBOX 360 game. I don't design any monsters though... I draw and play music when i'm not at work.

thats pretty tight, i myself plan on trying to get into the feild of game design when i graduate in a couple months.
