My very first shot at water droplet photography
Allright, it is now 11:45 and there is a lovely snow coming down.. But I hate the orange glow put out by the city onto the clouds.. So I'm stuck inside for pictures. I decided 'Hey, let's try some water droplet shots!'.. Well, I threw together a makeshit studio on my kitchen counter.. A makeshift tripod consisting of a coffee can and a tea tin (so I could tilt the lense down) and a Visine dropper.
This shot was taken with the Canon 30D, Canon 17-85, f/4-5.6. ISO-640 On Camera Flash Used Focal Length-85mm f/8 Shutter Speed-1/250 sec. (flash syncronization maximum) I need alot of practice, and I also need to calibrate my monitor.. To see anything properly with it I need to be looking down on it while it is facing downwards towards the ground. Other than that, I think I'm off to a good start. Be nice, as I said this is a first try.. But all comments, queries and suggestions are appreciated. ^-^  EDIT: New one from same shoot. Better, no?

That's fucking beautiful man, the droplet above the ripple effect looks like a galaxy within a drop of water.
I'd say you did an excellent job.

I think if you used a different angle for a light and not used the camera flash it would have been a better effect, but what do i know
gj it looks pretty good, but what about a single drop of water? i think it's pretty trippy now though |

Did this one with Milk and Vinegar.. It really isn't that great, I'm very iffy about it.. But I like it nonetheless. hehe.

awesome shots man. sometimes its hard to realize that physics can be so wonderful. try to do drops in a larger container of water. and also try dropping something a bit larger than a drop of water. try a small pebble. i would like to see that. also another idea. take a picture of someone skipping a rock over a pond or in a pool.

Allright, both of these need some severe editing work.. But I am at a lack for photoshop just this minute. (Using mother's work laptop)
But here are the originals.. Be nice, as I said, they're not editied in any way.
