Just finished reading these two great books, both of which I reccomend 110% to anyone who is interested in politics/economy
The Selfish Gene- Dawkins
China Shakes the World: A Titan's Rise and Troubled Future and the Challenge for America

and I just started
American Theocracy: The Peril and Politics of Radical Religion, Oil, and Borrowed Money

Which has proven to be interesting as fuck.

Thumbs up

Excellant thread!
Have always been a voracious reader.
Currently, my new favorite author is: Augusten Burroughs(Running With Scissors, Dry, Magical Thinking).
FUNNY! And totally dysfunctional----just like me(most of the time).

I just finished reading a biography on Roosevelt "a river of doubt", after reading it, he is my favorite president.

I am also reading a book on hydroponics, but you guys wouldn't like to hear about that.

I've been spending so much of my time reading through Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six that I decided to take a break and spend a few bucks on some welcome additions to my shelf.

My interest in Cosmos was partly Rasta_Man's fault as I remember him speaking very highly of it, so I made a note to get it that I only took myself up on last night.

As for Zen and The Art of Motorcycle Maintenance, it seemed like a good read all the way around, but I'm only basing that on countless reviews, recommendations, and the few pages that I flipped through at the book store.

We'll see.

Cosmos is an excellent book. If you like it you should also watch the tv miniseries about it.

Right now, I'm stepping outside my usual realm of reading, and taking a look at Sci-Fi.

The Naked Sun by Isaac Asimov

I usually hate Sci-Fi, but this particular detectivew tale, I really can't put down. Books like this rekindle my love for reading when the fire starts to grow a little cold.
