Confederancy of Dunces, by John Kennedy Toole. What a crazy read, lots of characters of every kind, a pretty interesting story that comes together.
The Tao of Gung Fu, by Bruce Lee. Such a great book for any martial artists out there. Great philosophy for those who are interested.

I'm rereading The Divine Invasion by Philip K. Dick. It was always one of my favorites from him, but now that I've taken a rather in depth class on Western religious history and its pagan origins, I understand so much more of what he's trying to convey. His narrative is filled with quotations from religious leaders whose views I now recognize and understand. Its very much a story written in two layers much like the kerygma and dogma of the Abrahamic scriptures.
Maelman, have you ever read Tad Williams' "Memory Sorrow and Thorn" series? I feel its much better than Goodkinds "Sword of Truth" series. I always thought that Goodkind was sort of borrowing heavily from Terry Brooks and Robert Jordon which made the final product somewhat bland. Last edited by Palmer Eldritch; 03-02-2008 at 01:35 AM. |

I've been reading a couple classic stoner novels actually, probably already listed (too lazy and too baked to try and read that much tonight)
The Electric Kool-Aid Acid Test- Tom Wulfe On the Road- Jack Kerouac *One note i should warn you about Jack Kerouac, he is a very vivid yet "flow" type writer, in the sense at times you might get lost in a tanget he takes, but in the end he comes back and some of the lines he says are incredibly deep* The Sirens of Titans- Kurt Vonnegut |
