The point of vaporizing is to heat up and release most of the THC and other medically benefiting cannabinoids without producing large concentrations of plant tar, which is a result of plant combustion, and for marijuana that temperature is around 400+ degrees Celsius; Bic lighters will produce a temperature of around 3000+ degrees Celsius thus causing the entire plant to burn, producing a black resinous substance that contains all the toxic elements, and turn to ash. With vaporizing you get no ash because only the THC and other cannabinoids were consumed. You should still see a cloud of vapor/smoke when you exhale. This will be in less concentrations than say if you were smoking from a bubbler, but nonetheless you'll always see some form of vapor/smoke. When you reach that "popcorn" taste then the product is generally finished vaporizing and it's time for a new bowl.

The boiling point for THC is 380-400 degrees, I would suggest you try at that heat and see if it gets any better. My experiances have shown that one of the neat things about vapes is you can control what type of high you get - If you want mostly a head high you keep it around 350, if you want a more full bodied high than knock it up to 390ish - Different cannabinoids have different boiling points so if you have a good vape you can be really really selective about what you're putting in your body. |

Yea, like I said I'm fairly new to using a vaporizer. So far my experiences have been pretty positive. I noticed I do exhale vapor now when I use and its nice to now.2 .3 a good bowl cuz thats about what Ive been using. I will definetly try bumpin up the heat and seeing what happens. I just think Im not used to it yet. When I was smoking I knew exactly when the weed was finished because it would be ash. Its harder to tell when your using a vape. About how many hits should you get out of a bowl thats about .2-.3? Ive seen online videos were when people are done the weed its black. Except for a few times we smoked some really good bud, my weed is usually a lightish to dark brown color when I start noticing less vapor being exhaled.

Generally a bowl is done when it smells like burnt popcorn - I usually just do one or two bags off a bowl and save the remains for making butter or tincture | |

im pretty new at vaping too, but ive had the best results between 350-370. as far as knowing when the bowl is done, just keep pulling on the tube until you start to see little to no vapor. the bowl heats when you pull, so after a good hit, give it a good suck start(lol) and itll get going again. i love this fucking thing. also, the 1/8th you use? pack it against the screen lightly with your pinky or a chop stick or something. try stirring and vaping it again before you dump it. which leads me to my own question, is the vaped weed at all usable? like for a joint? or cooking? thank you in advance!

Vape remains are good for all of the above. Butter, Tinctures, Joints, Bowls, etc. Basically, no vape is 100% efficient so even if you vape the shit out of a bowl there is still *some* cannabinoids left. The less you vape, the more left in it obviously but you can get decent results off of pretty well toasted cann... Worst case scenario save up an ounce or so of remains, stick them in a bottle of vodka (or Bacardi 151 if you're feeling saucy) and forget about it in your closet for 6 months. When you pull it out you'll have something special |

And I wasn't sure what the temp's on bic lighters were- just did a quick goolge search and posted it; but now I'm finding some people claiming the flame of the lighter to be around 450C/842F.. but still marks my point that the flame is way above the optimal heat range for consuming marijuana, which is around 170C-190C/340F-375F.
