Question about grinding your bud

Is it a bad idea to grind up your bud but not smoke it untill a later time. basically what im asking is, should i wait till the moment im going to smoke to grind it or does it not matter?

i actually like pre-grinding, make sure it's in something airtight

The only real issue would be freshness,if you leave it in a grinder it could dry up a tiny bit,but if it's only there for a few hours or a day should'nt matter much.

If you mean grinding it then putting it in an appropiate container just as if it were buds.
Go ahead why not,just make sure to save the kief.

Personally I like having whole buds in my jars,grinding it just makes it look like shake and not impressive at all.

I don't think he was planning on leaving it in the grinder...

If you leave it in a sealed bag with no air you shouldn't have any problems but my guess is that it's probaby better to grind it just before. Not because of freshness or whatever but if you want a joint you won't grind it the same way as if you want to wipe it.

I dont have a grinder so i stick it in a beer glass i have thats rounder on the bottom like a shotglass and can chop up a gram at a time, And ill just pour it back into my jar along side my buds if i dont smoke it all. No biggs. Then the next time i jsut smoke whats ground and grind up more if i need

thanks for the quick replies. i keep my bud in a plastic game cigar tube and i keep the top on it so i suppose thats air tight right?

Invest in a grinder,cheaper ones go for like 10 bucks at smoke shops.
Just make sure it has a kief screen and chamber which is almost the whole point of a grinder IMO

Ya but the best would be a Jar that has rubber under the cap. You can't go wrong with that.

Nope, not air tight. Also I remember reading that plastic degrades THC molecules over time. I'll look that up later tonight to confirm. You should invest in a glass mason jar with a two-piece lid.

If you think so,but my advice is go to FRY's and buy a few mason jars,they're like 1.50 each and are what I think the best way to hold buds in,absolutely sealed and you can admire your buds from the outside

Trust me once you go mason,you'll never go back.

breaking up weed by hand is a great feeling, and can be just as efficient if you know what your doing.
another reason I don't like grinders is because they trap some of the kief from the bud into it.. I mean it may be a minuscule amount but i'd still rather have it in my bowl.

You do realize how much kief is getting stuck to your fingers,falling onto table top etc...
That is exactly why grinders are better.

My problem is the closest grinder is in oregen and i dont really have the earge to go back AGAIN for somehting that costs 10$.. Ive had to make 2 trips already for small crap.. When i need a bong ill pick up a grinder aswell

But if you invest in a decent grinder like a sharpstone for 35 bucks or so with a kief screen and an extra chamber then it will catch the kief that drops off your buds and you can put it on a bowl and get reeeeeeal ripped

EDIT: Bottom line is, instead of having the trichs rup off on your fingers instead they fall into the chamber for later use

you can get a cheap grinder for like.. 15 bucks. then head over to your local walmart, you can buy tiny airtight jars for like $2-$5
