Mold, Storage And How Often?

So i have a few questions about Mold, People say store your bud in a cool dark place to avoid mold, mason jars would work right for air tightness i assume? If bud is stored in a mason jar would it mold? And how often does mold occur out of the average toker, is it something to be truly concerned about checking your bud a week or two. Or is it more of a 1 in 500 chance of happening. I have read the mold on pot thread, but i didnt see storage or how often it may happen. Thanks for the help GC

I've never had moldy bud! I'd never even heard of it 'till now. I mean, sure it makes sense... old = mold. But I've never had bud get moldy on me... I usually keep it out of direct sunlight not to avoid mold but to avoid it drying out... maybe I was preventing mold without realizing it? Also, I never buy more than a quarter or a half oz at the most, so I usually smoke it before it gets too old.
