bong questions please help?

Hi so I have a bubbler right now but i'm looking to buy my first bong and I had some questions.

I really liked smoking out of a bong with ice the times I tried it so i was wondering do you need an indent on the neck to catch ice in a bong or can you just put ice inside the bong even if there isn't an ice notch?

My friend's bong you could pull out the bowl to clear the bong...is every bong like that or are some different?

What size do you guys recommend for my first bong? It needs to be not too big (I found one online on EDIT that was 14.5 in).

and What else should I look for in a bong? Any tips will be greatly apperciated. THANK YOUu

1. You do not need an ice catcher, you are find letting the ice go all the way down to the bottom. Be VERY careful doing this, as you do not want to crack anything.

2. No. Some bongs have a carb, as I'm sure your bubbler has. The majority of bongs that I have seen, you just pull the bowl to clear it.

3. I would get a 3 ft. This is just me though, it's all personal preference.

4. Thick glass. Look for any defects in the glass. I recommend going with clear glass for your bong. You will be able to see any defects much easier this way.

You can put ice in the bottom of the bong but it can crack glass due to quick temperature changes. You can get either a pull carb or a hand carb. it sounds like you want a pull carb where you pull the bowl out instead of holding a hole with your finger. Size is mostly all preference. I would go to a local shop to look at some pieces because you can inspect a piece better in person. Sometimes it hard to tell thickness and quality online

Not to mention online shipping prices are pretty steap considering most of them have to ship overseas. =/
