i feel for you getaway, i have never had the nerve to just walk up to someone i dont know, i am a pretty laidback guy, but would probly take it the wrong way if we hadnt at least hung out a little bit first

The only thing that has ever worked for me = go to a bar on campus during off-peak hours......order a few beers, a few shots, then start mouthing off to the bartender about how you wanna get high, chances are he can point you to someone in the bar who is down with the tootie.......bartender's always know their patrons well......also makes it easier to bring up the subject when everybody is a little lubricated!

Heh -- I feel your pain... There are some *great* pics of Minneapolis bud on these forums, but I have yet to ask anyone I know who knows where to find it. Also, as a graduate student, I have to be a little careful who I ask, at least in our department, since I have to TA classes & don't want one of the undergrads running to the administration when they have a problem with grades & need some leverage...

I can't get weed. Know why? Because I hate having to get to know people I don't want to have to get to know. Often they are assholes. Or, they are TOO easy going and carefree about smoking (in the car, at work) and man I'm just not that relaxed. I am paranoid. I am also angry that I have to BE paranoid. Of course it's not the pot that makes you paranoid. No, it's the fact that you know you're doing something illegal, and we are all conditioned, to some degree, to feel somewhere inside us that what we are doing is wrong. What a pisser. That's why m 0 m is my only hope. I always relied on my best friend and never had to worry. But we both re-located and I've been dry ever since. Hardcore bummer.

i just go up to people that look like stoners and ask em if they know where the herb is at. Usually turns up results within 15-30 minutes, and that's in Des Moines.

I read this posting and sympathize because Im in the same boat - added to that, I'm in my late 20s and am in a professional career that does not attract fellow smokers and could NEVER be mentioned at work.

So I'll give this a try - anyone in the Tri-cities Tennessee area have advice for me?

I'm quitting cigarettes and have never needed to smoke more than now...

this works pretty well actually. back when i didnt smoke pot that much and was into other drugs, i'd comb the streets near my apartment in philly and would ask where the trees were at. eventually it'd work.

i kinda do the same thing as music man, but instead of doing it that subtly (sp?) i just go "OH FUCK I WANT SOME WEED" and someone usually gets the message.
