The good and bad thing about the O-line is they are young. We've got two sophmores and three freshmen starting on the O-line. This means they are inexperienced, but they will be together for the next 2-3 years. And seeing as how they have been getting good pass and run blocking so far, the coming years should be great. And this is really the first year that Rick Trickett recruits have been playing. He likes them small-ish and agile... it worked at WVU and will work at FSU. You are so lucky that you got to go to both National Championship wins. I didn't get to go to either of the wins... but I did go to the '96 Sugar Bowl when we lost to Florida, and the '98 Fiesta Bowl when we lost to Tennessee, AND the '00 Orange Bowl when we lost to Oklahoma. I have promised myself that I will NOT miss FSU's next Title game... I am still hoping it will be this year. Edit- Rick Trickett did coach O-line at LSU for one year, but then coached O-line at WVU from '01-06 which would make him a key player in Pat White/Steve Slaton attack that was so impressive lately at WVU. The running game is the key to prosperity in Tallahassee and we've got the talent and the coaches to get it going.

My old teamate Kyle Colahan who is playing for the tigers right now says he is meanest son of a bitch you ever met in pads, his play shows it too.

LOL FSU having the best defense in the nation, thats a good one. You guys need to get Bobby outta there, then maybe something along those lines will come along. You guys have individual playmakers like always. But come on, you're really gonna make a statement like that? What high powered offenses have you had to contain anyways? After the Georgia Tech game we'll see. But until the departure of the relic, expect mediocrity in Tallahasee.

No one said we've got the best defense in the nation. IGOTJOINTS4YA said we've got the best defensive line in the country (and we may)... but at any rate, that's an opinion, so he's entitled to think that all he wants. But, you guys are right... we don't have the best defense in college football; only the third best. http://web1.ncaa.org/mfb/natlRank.js...otdef&site=org But I agree that it is time for Bobby to go. I love him, but he just hasn't been winning enough lately and he can no longer promise high school recruits that he will be their coach their whole college careers. Plus, Jimbo Fisher is gonna get things done.

The Noles survive a nail biter. That was the most lopsided two point win ever. The Canes only had 256 total yards including just 51 on the ground. Christian Ponder ran for 144 yards and threw for another 159. Antone Smith ran for 92 and four TDs including the game clincher when they were really just trying to get into position for a field goal. Florida State played alot better than the 41-39 score would indicate. The Defense played great and the running game looked good... especially Ponder scrambling. Four turnovers and nearly 100 yards in penalities is something we need to work on, but all in all it was a good win for the Noles in one of the rgeatest rivalries in college football. Roll Tribe!

Everette Brown is a prototypical NFL 4-3 Defensive end/3-4 OLB, whenever he declares for the draft, he will be picked in the first round and is a higher touted player than any of Georgia Techs Defense and team for that matter. This is FSU nose tackle, he is one of the strongest player EVER in teams history and is stronger than anyone anyone on Georgia Techs team and opens things up for players like: Dekoda Watson, 220 pd 4.5 forty Derek Nicholson 235 pd 4.6 forty Linebackers the shoot the gaps and possible cutback lanes, it is evident that once the anchor of FSU's defense Paul Griffen came back from suspension that we dominated the competition. This is evident in the first half of the FSU-Miami game, 17-3 . Now only if we could punt the fucking football we might actually stomp alot of the competition. We will see if Georgia Techs "dated" offense will be a match for FSU's defense, if you guys beat clemson, I will give you some props but I really doubt it. You guys have a good defense to, but it pales in comparison to FSU's. Last edited by IGOTJOINTS4YA; 10-05-2008 at 03:40 PM. | |

dude I was talking about Georgia Tech's offense, the triple option. I know their defense isn't that good but what I was trying to say is that the noles haven't really faced a good offense yet. I'm not arguing about who's defense is better, that's not a question. I'm trying to point out that you can't say they have a great defense until they have faced a good offense.
