Re: Baseball

you know, it's funny the way the world works.

two plays into the ninth and i was maligning Eric Bruntlett for losing his only worth these days, fielding...and then he walks himself into the middle of an unassisted, game-ending double play, the 2nd one in regular-season history.

fuckin' crazy.

mets are terrible. TERRIBLE. how can they cap this failure? they keep finding new ways each month...it's insane.

Re: Baseball

this is seriously starting to weird me out just a liiiittle. maybe there is some sort of citifield curse, or maybe there is just some reason that the baseball gods want to see the mets not just falter, but be completely raped during the course of this season.

Johan is out for the season after elbow surgery...that makes Francisco Rodriguez the only good Mets player left unscathed this season. Knock on wood, Mets fans.

Re: Baseball

Fuck, tonight's game was like getting teeth pulled. And I usually like Dennis Leary and Lenny Clarke, especially together, but they were SO fucking annoying in the box tonight... Except the "where the hell is Heidi!?" remark by Lenny, that slightly redeemed him.

Re: Baseball

Me and a couple buddies rode to the angels game yesterday along with a couple grams of some dank. We got cheap tickets and went to the very top about 30 minutes before the start of the game. There wasn't anyone in our section so we smoke a couple bowls. We all got stoned so we decided we weren't going to smoke untill after the game. In the 6th inning they announced that everyone who has a tickets gets free wings at hooters right across the street. We left right after that and biked over to hooters, smoked a couple more bowls outside, and went in there stoned. It was awesome, hot chicas served us wings while we watched the end of the game. Angels won 4-2.

Red Sox gonna rape the Rays tonight IN St. Petersburg.... its gonna be tough since we are only 2-15 @ the Rays since '08 but Lester is gonna have a 10K night & Bay is rested ready to belt some homers.

Re: Baseball

Why would Tampa Bay trade Scott Kazmir for prospects?

And it amazes me that a team that was in the World Series can't draw a decent crowd at home...I don't think Florida is a good sports state

Re: Baseball

Because Kazmir had an ERA of about five and a half and a WHIP of like one-six, always had a high pitch count, was having shoulder troubles, and could rarely get past the fifth or sixth inning. Besides, they have so many rotation possibilities. Look at 'em:

James Shields, Jeff Niemann, David Price, Matt Garza, Andy Sonnanstine, Wade Davis, Jake McGee, Jeremy Hellickson, Matt Moore, Nick Marnese....and those are just the ones that are more or less ML-ready. That's enough for two rotations. Plus, in an emergency, both JP Howell and Lance Cormier are former starters.

Hamels was shut-down tonight, one-hit the Giants. Hopefully this is Cole rounding back into form, which would be right on time as the postseason looms.

and na, Florida is a terrible place attendance-wise. The Dolphins and the Heat are the only teams that really get a decent amount of regular attendance, and of course Florida and FSU; but the Rays, Marlins, Panthers, Magic...nothin'. I dunno about the Bucs.
