clones while in scrog?

i have this idea that would theoretically produce more bud sites

first, i would grow a plant to about 8 inches under a scrog

then i would use this cloning technique ive heard of where you scrape the stem and wrap it in rockwool ( i would probably support the weight by hanging it from the scrog ) and then the roots develop while the stem is still atteched to the plant

after its rooted, i would cut away the rest of the stem ( this cutting would be the main cola )

then i would top / fim the main cola ( after there are at least 8 other nodes of course )

i would do this because the growth would be less focused on the main cola, also the main cola would become 2 or more, resulting it more bud, and i would also have a clone to play with
