Very nice lookign plants tet!

i have a question, coco is not available to me down here but 10 million coconut trees are...

can you give me some detail on the consistency of the product you buy??? im asking its texture, are the fibers long? or is it chopped up like it was put in a blender, i want to try something by gathering dried husks and bleaching them out to get all the nasties out then growing in it.

Boy Dier that will be something..Making your own coco..O man..lol.
I suppose it can be done..its main ingrediants is coconut..Its just the other stuff that canna add or do..I know they put in trichoderma..ph balance it..They flush it with fresh water not sea like other companys which is one of the reasons its good..I also use cannazyme which helps keep moould away and is a stimulant for the roots..
Its Like its been ground with some stringy bits but no hard bits at all...Fuck ive just thought of you putting it into a blender...lmao..After you have flushed it i would then leave it to soak in some light ferts..Well good luck..would luv to know how you get on..

heres a pic of it..

so glad people here are picking it up

also canna coco is the best in most peoples opinions (those who have tested multiple brands)

i use it and with the 2 part nutes , A+B , it cant get much easier , also im usin PK 13/14 & pickin up some cal-mag , cannazyme , rhiztoric etc.

yeah tet, i got 5 large coconut trees that bare year round so needless tosay instead of chucking the dried out nuts on the ground i will take off the husks.

To sterilize (sp) it i will be first soak them out before chopping/grinding it down in a strong solution of bleach water.

I will let that sit for a day or 2 in there to get out all the nasties then i will be pressure cooking them under pressure with clean 6.5 ph balanced water with high concentration of urea in it.

After i strain that i will be lettign it dry out completely and setting in in YES a large blender to get the consistency i want.

then fill a bale of it and set it to soak in some 6.2ph balanced water for a couple hours then test the ph and ppm of it all and see where i am at.

Dier, the guy at the hydro store was trying to sell me on canna coco, he said that they soaked it for a year to get all the impurities out. but please give it a try, i have a lot of plams around as well, and this could be cheap for me as well. Good luck, and great thread. Till now i never considered coco growing, but im surley going to take a good look at it for the future. Does anyone know how the growth rate comapres to hydro?

Thanks

hey tet, actually, coco has been around for years and years. that's all i grow in. a coco/perlite mix. even though coco has about a 30% oxygen content, a little perlite is nice. you mention coco drying up quick, not so. on the surface it may look that way. the coco acts as a fine barrier against the drying of the root zone. you can water just like you're in soil if you like. don't expect the same results though. i've used canna, house and garden coco specific nutes. both work nicely! i've also used "pure blend pro" with great results. i also recommend using a ppm/ec meter, and a ph meter. coco is hydro and you want to keep an eye on those things in hydro. i do quite a bit of trimming and training and always get giant buds. bigger than i ever got in soil.

THC I'm just flowering my first hydro with medium results. I will not get so much bud, but the question is: Should I bother to learn my hydro better or will coco give me same potential. I don't want to grow more than 4 fems but I smoke like chimney and don't want to buy any more...

Why not just buy a bag?

Edit to add: Seriously, 50 litres is about $20. That's gotta be better than high pressure cooking in urea.
