So if I have read this correctly.....my closet is 2X4 feet = 8 SQUARE FEET...so 1(one) 400hps should be more than enough, right? Or should I use 2 smaller hps lights side by side because my closet is oblong?

Here is a crude drawing of what I am thinking...except instead of an ebb and flow I will be using 2 bubble buckets....

So.....2 Bubble buckets (2 sativa dom plants)...SCROG.....using HPS. I will be piping in A/C into the small closet for cooling. I will also have 2 exaust fans with scrubbers venting to the attic.

Does anyone have a good link on how to top plants for increased bud sites? Something for a newbie?

IMO, A scrog is ideal for CFL growers. It is the best way to maximize you yeild with this type of lighting. I used CFLs all the way through the veg cycle, and three weeks into the flowering cycle of my current scrog before I switched to HPS. I was getting good results with the CFLs.

high all,
new to the forum but not necessarily to growing..
anyway a few questions....
I will be setting up a 3'x3' bloom/grow area with mylar and a 400 watt HPS fixture (maybe lager if necessary) growing white widow max for now, but possibly some strawberry cough later..
The plants are in 5 gollow bubblebuckets.
I know that alot of people use a screen with a SOG legnth veg/bloom cycle, reccommending only about 1 plant per foot. Unfortunately i have a limit on the amount of plants i can grow legally (18). So instead of vegging so short, i was wondering exactly how big of a screen you can use per plant vith a longer veg. I want to bloom four plants at a time and i was wondering if it would be possible to fill a 3'x3' (2"x2" squares) screen with only four plants? Because I am limited on the quantity of plants i can have in my home, i was looking more to maximize yield.

Also if anybody has any experience with scroging WW any advice is appreciated. Thanks

4 is right on the line. It will be tight but very doable. I have 4 under a 3.5 x 3.5 screen and it's just right. I veg for 8-10 weeks

LBH - thanks. out of curiosity what do you yield or expect to yield from those 4 plants? Strain? how high is your screen from your medium?
i was thinking about 14-16 inches but just curious. my actual grow room is a 10'x12' bedroom so i am not so limited by space. i could easily step up to a 3.5' square screen, i could possibly step to a 600 watt hps as well. just curious what yield will be in comparisson to what i normally yield per plant. thanks

If I realized how cool an air cooled light stays, I would have bought 600's instead of 400's. Definitely.

8 inches above medium. Mine aren't this time but I've been instructed by the masters,...next run, 8".

Hoping to get 2 oz ea but some with more experience say to possibly expect more.
