dunno if it has been pointed out, but it is not the high temp that causes an increase in trichome/thc production. high heat is bad actually. what you want is UV rays and low humidity. the trichomes are there to keep the plant from drying out quickly (in case of short drought etc) and to help deflect some of the sun's harmful UV rays (UVB to be specific). so in that aspect, you would want to shower your plant with UV and drop the humidity when trichome production begins. they aren't there to keep predator's away, as most insects that prey on cannabis are too small to disrupt the trichome. i dont think even a bee would break trichomes.
