Re: LBH's 4-Way LST tutorial (w/ "topping" sub tutorial)

Chemist, not necessarily, sometimes they do, sometimes they don't, I just put that in there so you'd be prepared if you notice one going off on it's own.

vdopower
, I'm not really sure, I use it on pretty much all my plants, regardless.

Re: LBH's 4-Way LST tutorial (w/ "topping" sub tutorial)

Am absolutely loving this 4way Method so Far

I've always grown outdoor (Guerilla) so never Topped/LST/SuperCropped, I just Let the Plants "Go Wild".
My First indoor attempt was pretty poor, not enough vegging time, and i only ended up with 1 Oz, the Random LST i was doing didn’t help i think.

Here's my current Closet grow Using LBH's technique, Its Bubbleponics!
Nutes =2 part Grow, A+B with lots of extra stuff besides NPK, Cal&Mag etc.
Additives = Fulvic, Zyme and Silica.
Lights = 1x 50w 5000k CFL, and 36w of Home-Built LED Panels. (will add 2x 50w 3000k CFL's During Flowering)

First Pic: 2 Week Old Clone, topped for four way, had trouble rooting so was off to a slow start..

One month later:

vegging2.jpgvegging3.jpgvegging1.jpg

Second Pic: Close up of the 4-way Split of the Main stem.
Third Pic: Top View, 20+ "Bud Sites" so far
Fourth Pic: Full Plant Shot.

I’m thinking of growing it further outwards (its 50cm across so far) and grow it 50cm upwards before i flip to 12/12. I want alot more vegging compared to my last grow.

I've stopped topping and will let it grow upwards for a month and see what it looks like (hopefully a super bush that can meet my goal of 3-4 Oz's when I flower it), Its Indica and usually grows 1.5 meters+ Outdoors.

The Giant round leafs on this are the "basil leafs" from the revegging stage, they're very green, so I’m sure are still doing their photosynthesis thing. After a Month I've finally got 5 Point leafs again.
I think chopping off Fan leafs probably retards a plants growth, by removing vital Energy converters, so I have now started to "tuck in" Fan Leafs to allow the new growth sites plenty of unobscured light.

I honestly couldn’t be happier with the grow so far, and if I continue to grow it 4-way I think I’ll maximize my Closet Use with this one plant.

Awesome Tutorial LBH

Another 3-4 weeks, for a Total of 2 Months Veg. I think by then it will be almost a metre across, and 50 cm high.

When it Finishs Flowering I think it'll be 1 meter wide, 1 meter high. (Mid february Harvest date, cured by the end of March)

With the bucket height + the Light Hood Height; it should fill my closet perfectly (the 3x 50w Mixed k CFLs at the top, and then LED panels move down to the sides)

4-way looks like it will make the best use of the Width of my closet.

I've never done this method without using the "topping" method also. They go hand in hand and it really does help if you have a plant of good genetics, but it works on any and all plants.
Very helpful, thanks a lot for posting this!

Awesome! That's exactly what I wanted to know. Thanks LBH!

Re: LBH's 4-Way LST tutorial (w/ "topping" sub tutorial)

would a three gallon bucket work for the LST method or is it not wide enough?
Also how much do you think it increases the yield of a plant vs a plant that was only firmed?

3gal-yes

as for the yield, nothing has ever been proven as for greater or less yield. IMO, the #1 reason for 4 way lst is to set up a plant to be scrogged.
