The cotyledon (those first round leaves) don't coun't. The first few leaf sets have 3 fingers on the leaf like the cheesy illustration below,lol

The first set to have all 5 (or more) fingers is usually the 4th or 5th true leaf set. Let that one grow, pull the next.

Thanks, that clears things up for me, guess I only have 2 nod sets, my plant is about a week old now.

Hey LBH, so I plucked the 5th leaf set and the new growth is showing but my plant is so much bushier that the ones you have in the pics.I'm getting woried that my new leaft sets wont get long enough to actually tie them down. I'm growing LSD and I'm on my 22nd day. If you have time check out the pics on my journal. Thanks

Once you pull that set, the growth really takes off. You should be fine. If you are still worried, raise your lights a little and make her stretch.

*You might want to put a link to your journal in your sig so when you have someone go look, they know where it is.

I found it, looks good, you're right on track.

The reason I ask is because I'm left using 1 rubbermaid bin for the grow space.

I have the box setup with 2 27 watt 6400k CFL and 2 23 watt 4100k CFL for veg and 4 23 watt 2700k for flowering with the option of adding 2 18 inch 15 watt 3000k CFL tubes.

The seeds germinated but haven't came through the soil yet.

Could you share any tips/advice?

Yield is not my greatest concern, I'm honestly fine only getting 5 grams, Anything more than that is a treat!

You may have width issues. It doesn't grow "up", but it sure as hell grows "out"

I'm thinking that since yield isn't a great concern, and with the space issue, that I should just do the 4 way LST, which should give me 4 bud sites right?

Then start flowering after I've 4 way'd it.
I'm thinking about flowering it once it looks like the ninth picture on the first page.

Basically, I'd follow your steps until the ninth picture, Then flower. Would that work?

Yes, that'll work. You will likely have a runaway arm, look what yo do with one of those in the pic below, you curl it into the open space.
