| I cough, therefore I am. | Re: Boosting Growth: Electrical Stimulation w/ Pv Cells!? ^^
im using a 9v battery that is kept outside the grow container. i have neg/pos leads coming off the battery, leading to two electrodes that i placed 3 inches deep in the soil, about 4 inches away from each other (plant is directly in the middle). my voltmeter reads about 58mv across the topsoil, 350mv at 1 inch, .7v at 2 inches, and .5v at 3 inches. will this be enough for benefits to be seen? if anyone knows... if not, i guess i will find out.

| "Heavy as Lead" | Re: Boosting Growth: Electrical Stimulation w/ Pv Cells!? ^^ What does that prove to me? I asked if anyone has had any kind of results, not "tell me if it works". so again, anyone have any evidence? Don't get me wrong, I am all about new methods and employing things that actually work, but so far this has been a bunch of talk. There are what two sets of pics in this thread, neither of which look that great. The plants look fine, don't get me wrong, just nothing to make me consider the risk of electrically shocking plants.

It's 10$ top to get you started, dude. And if you're afraid of stunning your plants, experiment on something else first, a tomato plant for example. Or a seedling that you're not planning on growing. Or a male plant instead of discarding it. Heck, you can even stick your PV cell on any plant outside, maybe in a pot on your balcony. After all, this is just an experiment. And as such, it needs further improvement, and constructive, creative ideas. Get involved ![]() We're not a corporation, mate. We're not a seller, or any other entity trying to sell or promote something. We experiment for the sake of discovering new things, and the thrill of doing something new. It's a great feeling. If you're expecting a guaranteed product or growing system, you might wanna try an online company, plenty of them around selling all kinds of magical remedies ![]() If not, and you're in for some bumps along the road, welcome, and be asured, the bumps are a part of it too, as is the excitement when you see good results. My suggestion is go for it, if you're interested in experimental techniques. And, hell, why not? Be the first to post >your< pics, that would be great! ![]() Take care mate, stick around! ~Dug

Perhaps I was a bit presumptious with my first post. I didn't mean to come to your thread and disrespect your methods or put anyone down. I would just love to see some results. I am the type that believes it when I see it. I have a perpetual grow going now and love to do experiments on the side. I guess I'm a bit old-school, if I can say that about myelf being the age I am. That is a good idea. I have posted pics before, but then seriously regret doing so. Good luck with everything DUG!!!

Nono all is good, mate, I understand your point, sorry if I was steep too. I'm also in a perpetual grow atm, I figured it was the only way to have a constant supply of plants for these things. Good luck to you too, take a look on these threads when you pass by if you can, novel ideas and willing for experimentation may certainly be a propelling mechanism, but experience from old schoolers and seasoned growers is a great catalyst, a much needed and appreciated point of view. Thanks! ![]() ~Dug

I used it on the vegging stage of my grow from week 2 on and it was vegged for 50 days so far off of one plant i have a wet weight of 193 grams was only using 12,000 lumens of CFL light expecting around 2oz give or take

dug, good job motivating the thinkers on this forum into action. I plan upon shocking an orchid & a bamboo plant tomorrow. I figure the orchid is ultra delicate & the bamboo ultra hardy. i will do some experimenting with the proximity of leads to the stem & the strength of current. i have 6 diff walk way solar lights. i have taken 2 apart already & extended the wires. experiment #2 - take 2 clones, both are exactly 2 weeks into veg & same height etc. I am going to ensure they even have same # of leaves, same amount of soil, same water, nutes etc. the variables will be copper(pennies or cut up strips of a copper tray I have around the house. I do not know how I will cut it yet, but i am reseourceful.) i want copper to be in one plant, & not the other. I am still figuring out how to create a powered magnetic field in this experiment. it may or may not be included in experiment #2, the power magnetic field that is. regardless, the copper alone, without power, may be enough to conduct some electricity. copper also is known to accomplish other feats, like fungus resistance, snail resistance, etc. That crop in the Mine led me to want to try this. i will post pics tomorrow of the set up. experiment #3 - is create magnetic field between one clone. still have control clone with no magnetism/copper etc. I feel that I could somehow use the PV cell to create a magnetic field all day & nite round the plant. perhaps, i could rig one PV cell to create the magnetic field & shock the plant stem, as well. If people are burning their plants already, re-routing half the current elsewhere & keeping the current flowing 24/7 may show some interesting results. like Duggy Fresh said, until you try it, you can't deny it. so, try it, i will. God speed all. |
