Bubble cloner, nutes, superthrive etc..?

Hey,
I just built a bubble cloner. In the past i just cut clones and put them in a cup of distilled water, first signs of roots come out at 3-4 days and they're ready to be transplanted in a week or 2.

Anyways, does anyone put any superthrive, or dip the cuttings in rooting gel or powder before putting them into the bubble cloner? And if so does it make the cutting root faster than straight water?

Re: Bubble cloner, nutes, superthrive etc..?

I do put rooting gel on mine, I use a daisy cloner i guess its simillar to aerponics but not as adavnced.

I think the trick to getting roots, is either having a good humidity dome or kepping the clones misted.

The first time I cut clones, using the cloner, It took almost 3 weeks, although there were no signs for two and a half weeks.

Then I said hey Ill start misting them, because there was no dome to use, sure enough 4 days later I had roots. I just kept them misted every 4 hours or so.

hope that helps both of you. Ecspecially homy with clones that havnt started to root in 6 days.

I just use rooting gel. Ive tried superthrive in the past and it makes the rez all funky and the plants didnt like it. I got some rotted stems with it.

after your plants root, you can lightly feed them in the cloner if you need to hold them there for a little while. I wouldnt feed until you see roots though.

I would only recommend using superthrive in soil. it funks up rez's pretty easily.

Re: Bubble cloner, nutes, superthrive etc..?

I kinda wanted to say that also...NO Organics in the cloner...ThriveAlive which i put out by the same company as superthrive (ibelieve its the same company) they put out two different kinds of thrivealive...organic and non organic...The organic stuff gets goopy the inorganic stuff stays nuce and clean...

Domes are good as well as spraying..just dont over do it!

i would say no nutes.. some rooting gel/powder or maybe some jumpstart and thats it.... But you really dont even need all that.. You can root em in tap water or RO water. At this early stage in life, majority of additives can hurt rather than help..

Re: Bubble cloner, nutes, superthrive etc..?

i guess ill put in my 2 cents I havve used superthrive forever so i have some experience. Use 1 ml (1/4 tsp) per gallon from transplant until you begin flush. no more or less, makes litlle differnce with more and run risk of killing plants. i use 1ml per gal indoor and out,(out gets water without any superthrive though). hope this helps

Re: Bubble cloner, nutes, superthrive etc..?

For the bubble cloner whats the best water temp. and pH?

Also i read B1 is good for rooting,i used 10ml/cc per gal in my new cloner over a heat mat and a pH of 5.5.

I added this because its title said Bubble cloner.

I always let my water run at room temp. 78-83 for clones. I have had extraordinary results

compared to what some people have said. I use a little liquid karma and hydro guard.

cuttings usually take root within 4-6 days which in my opinion is sweet!
