Killer. Thanks a bunch! I'll be using it tomorrow.

For anyone that is going to buy molasses, make sure you buy unsulphured blackstrap molasses. I used 1 tablespoon per gallon of water every watering will good results.

There are plenty of people on here that use it a few times during veg too. I use it about 2-3 times during veg at low strength.

Re: Using Molasses as a nutrient

I'm unable to find blackstrap molasses any where around where I live. So I'm forced to use Grandma's (unsulfered) molasses, this crazy I used to walk into any food store and buy it, but oh not any more. I'm in Florida and this just stupid! So use what I get I can get, and have been using it with coffee grounds for the nitrogen and baking powder for the phosphorous and to lower the acid in the coffee grounds, as only my nutrients and have been doing good, The plants are still veggin and close to flowering. This is the first time I've tried to use nutes made from things found in the kitchen, and so far so good.

Re: Using Molasses as a nutrient

This does not work at all in Aeroponic or anything that has spray lines in a non soil medium. Bacterial bloom run rampid in with this stuff. I even tried a similar form like sweet from botanicare that did the same thing. I am a pretty new grower still now having just started my third grow and i am very happy not using sweet or molas because i dont have to clean my spray lines as much. When i was using it i had to clean them once a week.

Yeah uh, it's for soil grows anyway I believe. I would NEVER put this sticky shit in any kind of hydro setup.

Re: Using Molasses as a nutrient

Sorry if this has already been answered, but here goes.

How does the molasses affect the "micro-herd"? I heard that it makes the beneficial bacteria growth really take off. Does this inhibit the growth of the fungi?

I do beleve that it doesn't inhibit fungi, so if your using a hydroponic system I would change the solution once a week. Now I beleve coffee and coffee grounds will inhibit fungi.

Thanks for the reply ghostwolf58. I meant does it inhibit beneficial fungi. Maybe I am getting off topic. Is there a thread I missed about friendly microbes and such?
